Dr. Edwin Earl Spencer JR., MD

Dr. Spencer removed his bandana "mask" during my office visit, and was offended when I didn't want to shake hands due to COVID. This practice does not appear to take the pandemic seriously. I tried to address it with someone in their administration, who claimed it had already been addressed with the doctor. This can't be true - I hadn't left the details of my interaction in my phone message. Perhaps the corporate culture encourages a lax attitude towards safety. Please avoid this place.

Terrible experience. Two pointless surgeries. One surgery changed from being planned as arthroscopic to me being left with a giant angry scar the day of the procedure. Would never recommend.

Dr Spencer has such an opinion of himself he doesn't take what you are saying seriously. As a result I have been left with a misaligned elbow fracture which has healed all wrong. This has left my arm weak very painful and deformed. He dismissed everything I was trying to explain. I found him to be very patronizing.

He may be a good shoulder surgeon but I was extremely disappointed with his lack of response to my displaced elbow fracture. 1/3 of the joint was broken away and slipped down. He preferred the 'wait and see' approach. That approach has left my arm in pain and weak and an arm which is now deformed. It's been 3 months since I fractured it and I'm no better off than when I first broke it. It's fused all wrong and the pain and weakness prevents me from using my arm fully. I'm just mad at myself for not paying attention to my 6th sense. He has too much of an opinion of himself to really listen to what I was telling him. He had this know everything attitude. He said there may be cartilage broken off in the joint but again 'before we do an MRI, let's 'wait and see'. Not good enough. I have found another surgeon so hopefully this one will be a little more proactive. And let's hope it's not too late.

After 3 weeks Post Op no pain. Dr. Spencer is very professional and great bed side manner. Spencer did my Left shoulder 15 years ago and is still doing great. The Best!

Dr Spencer performed total reverse shoulder replacement on my right shoulder in Feb. He explained in detail the surgery procedure and why it was the best option for me. The surgery went great and I had fast recovery with less pain than before surgery. Dr Spencer is very caring, confident and professional with a good support team . Jeff and Andrea are very competent and works closely with Dr Spencer and can answer any question. Excellent surgeon!!

Have had serious pain in both shoulders for 2 years. Had injections in both shoulders 3 different times during this time. With minimum relief, I decided I couldn’t live with the pain any longer. After research, decided to see Dr. Edwin Spencer. The pain was so bad, I wanted him to do both shoulders at the same time, but he said I wouldn’t want that so I chose to do the dominant right shoulder. My experience with this team was excellent from the initial visit, to the surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation. It has been four months since surgery and full movement of my right shoulder without pain has been restored. Thank you Dr. Spencer and your “well-oiled machine” staff. Since I am in my mid 70’s I wondered if surgery was right for me. I would highly recommend Dr. Spencer and his assistant, Jeff Jarnigan, and am planning surgery on the left shoulder since this one was so successful. It certainly is nice to move my shoulders without pain.

DR SPENCER DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ON MY SHOULDER HE WAS THE THIRD DOCTOR I HAD SEEN . HE DID A REVERSE SHOULDER REPLACEMENT AND I AM FINALLY HEALING. I WOULD RECCOMEND HIM TO ANYONE.

Thanks to Dr. Spencer for treating me the patient and not just my injury. Upon my pre-op visit doctor Spencer listen to my heart and noticed a irregular heat beat and at his insistence I contacted a Cardiologist and it was later determined that I had a heart blockage. With his approach to ones health as well as there injury he possibly could have saved my life had this gone undetected. Thanks again to Dr. Spencer and his great staff.

Excellent surgeon, discussed complete surgery procedure before hand. Staff also was excellent in letting me know what was going to be done, and told me what and why they were doing every step of the way. Surgery, recovery, and rehab has been as nearly a painless as one could every ask for. Scars or incisions are minimal as if a plastic surgeon had finished the work. Full movement restored and without the sharp pains that I had before Dr. Spencer's excellent work. We are gratefully pleased with KOC, Dr. Spencer and his staff.
