Shortly after I began seeing Dr. Khin Khin, something happened that changed and worsened my condition. While it became clear that I was now outside her area of expertise, she never stopped trying. In addition to working on finding the best combination of medications, she also recommended partial-hospitalization programs, looked for a second therapist, and fought G.W. so I could stay in school. Later, when I was inpatient in a hospital in a different city, she came to visit me while she was in the area for business. I consider myself lucky to have had her with me through such a difficult period of my life.

Dr. Khin Khin was an hour late for my first appointment. When she arrived, she spent about 1 1/2 hours interviewing me which I thought was good. Her response to medication management calls was poor in my experience. It was as if she didn't listen to me.

I've seen a dozen psychiatrists over the course of ten years and Dr. Khin-Khin was by far the best. She spent two hours on our initial visit taking a complete history - which is rare these days - and at the end gave me a probable diagnosis, which was in line with my previous psychiatrists' diagnoses. She was able to tell me the reasoning behind why certain medications were more effective and the cause of my withdrawal symptoms, which no one else has been able to. She doesn't rush patients out of the office and follows up on missed appointments. She clearly cares and is extremely competent.
