Dr. Elaine E Vellas, MD

Came to the site while trying to get the phone number of First Care. Dr. Vellas has been my primary care physician for about 5 years. I find her to be professional, pleasant and find she is a good listener. In fact, she correctly confidently diagnosed a problem or should I say lack of a problem that I subsequently went to a specialist for. I was very impressed by her knowledge. I decided to write this review because I’m surprised about all the negative reviews. One positive review looks like the wrong amount of stars were designated.

At first I thought she just didn’t have the greatest communication skills, but after multiple follow up visits about the same issue it became clear that she was not listening to what I was telling her. She was rude and her answers to my questions were flippant. Now I’m worried that the meds she prescribed might not be necessary so I’m getting a second opinion and finding a new primary care physician.

She is probably the worst dr I have ever seen . She was not making sense and told me she was worried about my illness . After forcing her to do an X-ray she told me my pneumonia may be a turnout abs to folllow up. I can’t believe what I witnessed in that visit

You need to communicate with Dr. Veles. Too many people come in and expect the doctor to be a mind reader. It is important to share what you are experiencing with her so she can make an accurate diagnosis. I found her to be very kind and understanding.

She is now my primary doctor because she was so professional & attentive when I first met her during a visit to First Care Medical.

Dr. Vellas is awful, she misdiagnosed me on two separate occasions and has atrocious people skills. Doesn't ever seem to be paying attention, forgets to check on test results and acts like whatever she's doing is an afterthought. Today I was diagnosed with seasonal allergies and now have a fever.
