Dr. Ott is a true professional as good as it gets. The entire pregnancy she was available to answer all of our first time parent questions and concerns. We ended up having an emergency c-section due to low amniotic fluids and Dr. Ott was outstanding in the entire process. From making us feel comfortable and calm to performing the operation flawlessly. So much love and joy they helped us bring in to the world. Outstanding doctor and a wonderful woman!

Dr. Ott is an amazing Doctor! She is extremely knowledgable. Always made me feel comfortable and well cared for. I never felt rushed. She made both of my pregnancies and deliveries so memorable. She has such a great bedside manor. I can't speak highly enough about her!

Dr. Ott's bedside manner is very professional. Even though she is a busy doctor with many patients to see, she took the extra time to thoroughly explain my medical needs in terms I could understand and answered all my questions. She is cautious and tends to genuinely care about my condition.

I was a patient of Dr Ott's. I had surgery to see if Dr Ott could figure out why I had such bad cramps. Found out I had endometriosis pretty much everywhere in my pelvic area. My options after surgery were to try lupin to put me into menopause and if that worked to try depo provera birth control or to have a total hysterectomy. I didn't want to try the lupron or depo provera because the side effects were horrible. I know I never want have kids, and when I choose the option for a hysterectomy, I was told she wouldn't do it because I might meet a guy one day and he'll want to have kids and I won't be able to.....I don't know why that is any of her business telling me I can't have one surgery to get rid of my pain, but no problem with me having to go through countless surgeries yearly or every 18 months just to get rid of the endometriosis and to help control the pain. I had no problem with her until this, but I will never make an appointment to see her again. I wouldn't recommend… Dr Ott to any of my family or friends

Dr Ott was amazing during my entire pregnancy. We had problems getting pregnant, it was Dr Ott who, with the right treatments, was able to help us. I always felt comfortable with her and she always answered any questions I had. I am a first time mom and had plenty. I am a planner and like to have everything planned out as much as possible. I always had lists of questions to ask her. She would smile and answer them all. She was great with helping me understand some of the complications that I was having. I would highly reccommend her to others.

She is a wonderful person and probably excellent for regular problems. I hope with time she will become as good with high-risk pregnancies. Currently she is not. I just had my third EAB. I knew this one was not going to work out either because I was bleeding. However, she kept on insisting that everything was normal, bleeding must be due to implantation or us having sex. We were not having sex and implantation happened weeks ago. The bleeding must have been a sign of serious problems. I know under these situations a doctor can not do much but false promises are not useful either. It just got our hopes up for a few days before the inevitable happened. I wish she was more honest and realistic about our chances and referred to a specialist instead of giving us false hopes.

My first routine GYN visit with Dr. Ott was quite positive and she displayed a very caring, impressive bedside manner. I had no major medical issues at that time, so after my first visit with her I could only judge her qualities for "routine" GYN care, which she seems quite good at performing. However, I also now have the experience of a high-risk pregnancy (that led to fetal death @ 20 weeks) under her care, and must say that I have been disappointed with some aspects of my care. Communication between the Triage unit/the high-risk OB/Dr. Ott/me was poor in my situation. Triage performed 2 very detailed ultrasounds on the baby during 2 bleeding episodes, but NO ONE discussed the baby's health with me after these costly & time-consuming procedures. It would have helped me (prepared me earlier for baby's demise) to have an update on the baby's health status after these 2 scans. I did not receive a good update on his health until 18 weeks pregnant (during a detailed anatomy scan);… however, the two earlier scans clearly showed the progression of his demise (according to the high-risk OB). Communication between Triage/doctors (Dr. Ott & high-risk OB)/patients needs to be improved in the Deaconess Women's Health system. My baby was diagnosed around 12 weeks with specific defects, but the Deaconess system (including Dr. Ott) did not provide supplementary information on the diagnosis or resources for support during this difficult time. I also recall some inappropriate misspeaks by Dr. Ott (e.g., after measuring my uterus height at a later OB visit and noting it was large for date, she stated I was going to have a big baby - umm, not the thing to say to a patient who has already been told her baby has a VERY high chance of dying in utero; also, going on too long about not having intercourse due to my bleeding, even AFTER I told her my husband & I were so stressed about our situation, that was the furthest thing from our minds). This has been a difficult situation for my family and I hope I am not letting that cloud my opinion here. But even after reaching some acceptance that my baby did not survive, I am left with lingering beliefs that my case was not handled very well by either Dr. Ott or the Deaconess Women's Health System. High-risk obstetric care seemed weak at Deaconness, at least in my situation. Just a warning for other women who find themselves in a similar situation. Note that I still believe Dr. Ott is a very friendly, compassionate OB/GYN who is probably very capable of handling routine OB/GYN care. However, her relative newness to the field had not prepared her well for the high-risk pregnancy I experienced. She has many good qualities if you require routine care, but you might want a more experienced OB/GYN for problematic pregnancies.

Ever leave the doctor's office and later, thought of things you wished you'd asked?I seem to do that with all of my other doctors, except Dr. Ott.And I think this is why:Instead of just nodding and throwing out a diagnosis, she gives a synopsis of how she came to that conclusion. She helped me understand what my bizarre symptoms could mean. She says things like "It looks like _____ so first we're going to try such-and-such. If your body doesn't respond, we'll know it's _______."I like to know where she's coming from. She's highly intelligent, logical, and compassionate. And she helps me to be IN on my own treatment.And naturally, I leave the office, confident that she's really listened to me and that I'm on the right track.

Dr. Ott is a wonderful Doctor. She spent time with me and made sure that I understood all information before she concluded with the appt. She is genuine and compassionate. I would recommend her to anyone in the search for a OB/GYN. She makes what can be an uncomfortable experience very easy.
