Dr. Enes M Kanlic, MD

Excellent surgeon.

I found Dr Kanlic to be very kind and caring. He explained in detail, what was going on with my knee and gave detailed steps on how i should take care of it in the future.

Went to see Dr. Kanlic after appointment was changed to him. My fiance had a knee injury, was told in emergency 9 days prior that he had a fractured tibia, possible meniscus tear all of which is extremely painful. We were told by ER we needed to be seen by an ortho specialist in 1-2 days. By the time we finally get an appointment it's a week later. Once in the room he attempt to do an examination that consisted of making my fiance walk to him without crutches. After hes' on the examination table he yanks and pulls and pushes deep into his knee, all the while my fiance was in clearly in distress. Once done he said "You Survived" and that he has seen much worst injuries. I had to ask him does this types of injuries heal by themselves he said it depends, we were there to talk about surgery that never crossed his mind. He tried to ru out of the room and say ill give him some ibuprofen.... In the end we ended up with no resolution and having to go to another Dr. the… next day, that seen the urgency of the issue. He was diagnosed as having a torn ACL, torn meniscus and a micro fracture of the tibia, and surgery is unavoidable. Dr. Kanlic needs to hang up the stethoscope his professionalism and sensitivity are not functioning any longer to cater to his patients needs.

Dr. Kanlic does not listen and has an attitude that patients are stupid and he is superior. He implied that I was lying about past medical treatment, never having checked the documentation of them. He cut me off every time I tried to speak. He caused great pain during examination of my knee and brushed it off as inconsequential. I was hit by a car. I had multiple surgeries over several years by another surgeon. Dr. Kanlic said I must have insisted on those surgeries and they were not necessary. He called me obese and said I need to lose weight after I expressed to him that I am trying to lose weight but the condition of my knees keeps interfering. (38 Lbs over weight). He asked about my income, and dismissed me as soon as he knew I am not well-off. A doctor has no business asking about a patient's income. If the insurance company paid for the visit, that's all they need to know. I felt that my treatment was based on the doctor's disdain for poor people. May he never know through direct… experience what it's like to have your whole world turned upside down and lose everything because of a reckless driver. And if he does, I hope he gets a better doctor than he is.

He spent more time asking questions about my rare chronic illnesses that were unrelated to my visit. He admitted he knew nothing about my conditions and didn’t review my chart prior to visiting me. After doing this, he proceeded to judge the treatment I receive for these conditions. He told me that everyone falls and just because I did doesn’t mean I should make a big deal about it. I told him the pain I experience was everyday from my injury but then at the end he claimed I have little to no pain. He continuously interrupted me and then wouldn’t listen to what I said. In result, he would ask questions that I had already provided information about. He lectured me about using marijuana for my pain without knowing my medical conditions or view on it. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. It is not acceptable to shame patients for conditions unrelated to the orthopedic field. He seems old school and uneducated on newer medicine. Unless you had something really obvious, common, and… serious he won’t recognize your pain or struggle.

Having to see a different specialist after Dr. Kanlic neglected to make an accurate diagnosis. The new orthopedic doctor said he had never seen so much metal in one persons body. He said that nobody does that kind of repair anymore.

I cannot believe that Chandler Hospital retains such an arrogant man on their staff. His rapport with the family of one if his patients after surgery was appalling. We will NEVER EVER recommend him to anyone. We didn't have a choice in having him operate on my mother as it was an emergency. If we had been given time to do a quick google search of him, we would have known to look for someone else. Very dissatisfied, will never refer him to anyone.

I found Dr. Kanlic to be an excellent doctor. After my car accident I had multiple injuries which took months to recover from. My pelvis was shattered and he performed a masterful operation which allowed me to return to work. I learned later from another Doctor that he is one of very few doctors in the country who could even do the surgery I needed and how the Good lord blessed me. God bless Dr. Kanlic.

Dr. Kanlic is knowledgable but can be very callous. He doesn't answer questions and assumes his patients are uneducated because of their low income.
