Dr. Enrique Garcia-Valenzuela, MD

Dr Garcia is a doctor that combines extraordinary talent with a genuine love of what he does. He saw me Friday night and performed my detachment surgery at 8:30 PM Saturday night. Was in contact with me throughout the day while he was putting together a surgical team and scheduling with the hospital. There is no faking his genuine concern for his patience. I’m not qualified to evaluate his techniques, but based upon other well respected Ophthalmologists praise, he is a cut above. Simply put, I wish all doctors would model themselves after him!

I had a very bad experience with this doctor. He did not explain things to me very well in regards to my condition and then operated on my eye only to make my vision worse. He basically "guessed" and in the end I was left with vision loss and visiting him on a weekly basis with no improvement. After a month of this I went over his head and found a better retinologist. Dr. Garcia failed to treat me as if he would treat a family member and never took my concerns seriously. I would not recommend him.

A great hands on Doctor with great consideration for his patients. Some of his staff could learn a little more consideration for his patients.

I am 33 years old. My visit to the doctor was just an annual retina check up due to me being border line diabetic. He said I have cysts on my retina and I should see him in 3 months. After 3 months he said my eyes are getting worse and I should watch out for symptoms such as floaters or flashing lights and started building a case for laser and he didnt mention a word about the cysts. 2 months later I saw a lot of floaters so I went in again and then he tells me I have a tear in my retina and I will have to get a lazer which costs me around $2500 for one eye. It just seemed like a planned sequence of events. He never spoke of teh cysts again. His staff was very angry when I asked more questions than I should have. I am sure he did something to my eyes otherwise how can my eyes detoriate like this so soon and at this age.
