Dr. Eric Jackson specializes in the evaluation and treatment of patients with a broad range of neurosurgical disorders, including congenital malformations of the brain and spine, hydrocephalus (including endoscopic treatment), chiari malformation, craniosynostosis, spinal dysraphism/tethered cord, brain and spinal cord tumors, and traumatic brain injuries.

He is the Principal Investigator for several multi-institution research studies, including:

Hydrocephalus Clinical Research Network: currently investigating endoscopic surgery vs shunting for the treatment of hydrocephalus in infants in a $10M randomized trial funded by the NIH
Park Reeves Syringomyelia Research Consortium
Advancing the treatment for pediatric craniopharyngioma, identifying biological targets for molecular therapy
A multi-institutional trial investigating a non-invasive eye tracking device for assessing increased intracranial pressure

He does not listen to his patients at all. As a nurse, I was flabbergasted at his behavior. Luckily, we found a wonderful neurosurgeon elsewhere who lactually does listen to his patients and takes us very seriously. His opi ion on our condition was the exact opposite of Dr. Jackson's opinion! We feel much more comfortable now that we are no longer under Jackson's care...or lack thereof!

Dr. Jackson was our second opinion for our sons surgery. He is very knowledgeable in Chiari and answers every one of my questions. We chose him for the surgery and are so grateful we did, everything went smoothly. We would highly recommend him to any Chiari patient. He will guide you through it and take your concerns seriously.

Dr. Jackson is refreshing! That’s not something I can often say about doctors. He listens and shows concern for his patients and seems to truly want to help you. After feeling very dismissed by another neurosurgeon we sought a second opinion from Dr. Jackson and I’m so glad we did. His smile and knowledge really put us at ease.

My son was hospitalized at 6 months due to a condition. Dr. Jackson was his provider during the day and took time to answer questions and address concerns in a soothing manner, which was not the case with everyone. We had another year of follow up visits and Dr. Jackson was kind and patient at each visit again making sure all of our questions were answered and gave explanations in layman's terms. I would highly recommend him.

I'm not sure about the other reviews but dr Jackson was wonderful to us . My son was blown off by other docs and dr Jackson took a lot of his time to look into my sons care. He was the only one who listened and order proper testing to confirm my sons tethered cord and neurogenic bladder. I'm happy I went to dr Jackson bc if not my son would still be suffering. He is a younger doc, but he seems to be very knowledgable .

Poor bedside manner. Not something you want when dealing with children! Glad we got a second opinion because Jackson was WRONG in what was affecting my son.
