Dr. Evelyn N Beal, MD

I went several visits to address birth control. I paid out of pocket my supposed co-pays however my insurance paid everything but $20.02. I paid $80 out of pocket. I have contacted the office numerous times to get a refund that I am due of $59.98 now 3 months later and still no refund. The office is all about money.

I had been bleeding for over 12 years and know one could help me, never had the answer, but when I came to her. She was so good and step by step. She found the reason why.. well she is just a blessing.. Thank you Jesus!!

I have always had a good rapport with Dr. Beal but some thing has changed that...she schedules too many unnecessary office visits , and she has lost her compassion for her patients. I believe she is an excellent doctor ; however her office staff is going to cause her to lose a lot of business . I too have moved to another doctor after being under her care for more than 15 years.

I went to Dr. Beal for years. In the beginning, I thought she was wonderful and loved that she professed to be a Christian. Something happened and I began to feel like something just wasn't right. My last appointment with her was strange. As I checked out I was told she wanted to see me to follow up after my pap smear. I was confused and asked why, that she hadn't ever done that before. I was told it was to discuss my "dryness". I told them, no....if I had a problem I would call them...I mean...what was there to discuss? I honestly believe it was to be charged for another visit. I left her after all those years and she didn't even seem to care. It is sad because I do believe it may be all about the money now...and if that is the case, I feel sorry for her. I was told by Dr. Beal that I had to use Vagifem for the rest of my life and it was very expensive. My new doctor said "no, you don't need that". Anyway, it is sad.

I was referred to Dr. Beal since she was one of the few people in Fayetteville to provide more involved OBGYN care. It took 3 appointments to get briefed, provide consent, and finally have the procedure performed. The procedure went well, but after a few months, I was experiencing side effects and so made 1 more appt. I was given a prescription and told to reschedule for a follow up. I had 1 or 2 more follow-ups with no problem. Each time, I would schedule at the front desk and put it in my phone at that time. I received a call the day before my appointments to reconfirm. On the last appointment, however, I did not receive a call, but then got a missed appointment letter with a date a week earlier than what I had in my records. I called to dispute this and left a voicemail with the office manager. I never got a call back, just another missed appointment letter. Once I finally got in touch with the office manager, she stated that there was no way that the front desk was incorrect, that… I had to be, and there was no recourse other than to pay a $50 missed appointment fee. Needless to say, I will be finding another provider due to the unprofessionalism of the office administration.

The office is full of kinds of advertisement for direct sales, magazines, tv, etc, which makes this doctor very unprofessional. Waiting time is always more than 45 minutes, but meeting time usually less than 5 minutes. She always wants to have follow up visits even for something can be definitely notified over the phone or given during the same visit. Obviously she will charge you each time you visit. In overall, I am not comfortable with her and will switch to another doctor.

The other reviews are 100% correct when stating that the average wait-time for an office visit is anywhere from 30-45 minutes on a good day. The first day I had an appointment at Dr. Beal's office, I waited for 45 minutes to be seen... for 5 minutes and then I was on my way out the door with another appointement to come in a week later. I came in for that appointment and again a 5 minute visit for yet another follow-up visit a week later. That is 20.00 a visit for her to come in a spend about 5-10 mintues in the room with you. I have a hard time building trust with someone who doesn't take time with you to try and know and understand what is really going on, especially if they are the person who is treating you and diagnosis your problems.

Dr. Beal accurately diagnosed my situation very quickly. I had numerous huge fiboids causing me great discomfort and dispair. She is compassionate, caring and knows her stuff; she put me completely at ease. Dr. Beal is the OB/GYN provider I've always wanted. The plus is her concern and knowledge for womens health overall.

I went to see Dr. Beal the first time in 2007. On the first visit, she gave me a pitch for this natural and herbal remedies. She showed me a catalog and gave me her website where I could buy them. I found it very unprofessional not only that a doctor would be trying to sell me something in their office but that it had cut into my time as a patient to listen to the schpeel. Nevertheless, I kept herThe second visit, I had scheduled an appointment and when I arrived, the office was no longer there. I was baffled, to say the least. I called the old number and they told me where the new office was. I told them I had no idea they had moved. They said that notifications had been sent in the mail. I told them I never got one. They insisted they did. Still, I kept herOne day, I started bleeding vaginally. Called them to make an appointment and they told me I had to wait 10 days. I was outraged that I had to wait such a long time when there was obviously something wrong with me. They never… tried to accommodate me, nothing was offered. I ended up calling my brother in law, who happens to be a doctor. He told me more than likely it was the hormones I was taking. He advised me to stop taking them and call my doctor. I told him I wouldnt be able to get in earlier than 10 days. He was upset not only by the fact that I had to wait so long, but also because I should have never been put on hormones with family history of breast cancer in the family. I stopped taking hormones. The bleeding went away. Went to see Dr. Beal after 10 days and she agreed with my brother in laws decision. Still, I kept herAnother time, I ended up in the ER with severe abdominal pain. After 5 hours, I was seen by a doctor. They did a Cat Scan and found a mass in my cervix. They called Dr. Beal, she gave instructions to call her the next day to schedule an appointment. The whole ER incident took 10 hours from start to finish. I called Dr. Beals office the next day, related the incident of the previous day and I was told it would be 2 weeks before I could see her. I lost it! I was finally able to get an earlier appointment. The day of the appointment, after waiting over an hour to be called, I handed Dr. Beal the ER results. She suggested that a biopsy should be performed. I am pretty scared at this point. So, I go to the front desk to schedule it, then they tell me that it would be 18 days before they had an opening. I was floored! I asked them if there was another office or place that could perform it. They said no. I got very loud and told them they had to find a way to schedule it ASAP. They found a way to squeeze me in for the following week. Biopsy was done and on the follow up appointment, I was told everything was fine, no further action needed to be taken. Upon exiting my consultation, I approached the front desk, asked them for my medical records because I would be changing doctors. They told me it would be $40 and that it would take a couple of days. I paid and told them to call them as soon as they had them ready . Picked up my records, never went back again.

Dr. Beal was one of the kindest and nicest DRs I have ever been to. She helped me with a problem and I could not say enough kind things about her. She really cares about people.
