Dr. Farid Shahkoohi, MD

My husband and I have been patients of his for 30 years. He is knowledgeable and Caring. I have always been given accurate information for any questions I have. Yes there is a long wait at the time of your office visit but well worth it.

My entire family goes to Dr Shahkoohi. For over 25 years. We appreciate him , and trust him. We have all grown to really admire him, and after so many years, we love his bed side manner. Good staff and patient. Sometimes there’s a long wait but it’s worth it. He’s a great doctor. .

Great doctor who knows what he is doing. Diagnosis and referrals are spot on. Wait times in the office are usually long but he is worth it!

I was unfortunately a long time patient of Dr Farid Shahkhooi /I thought he had a nice bedside manner/however I started to have irregular kidney levels I was in S.Nassau hospital /2 renal DRs saw me at the time stating I needed to make an appointment with them /I told Dr Shahkhooi who needed to write a referral to theses DRs (as my insurance required it) he refused stating there was nothing wrong /I wish I did not listen or stay in his care for years as I did /at that time I was already in Stage 2 CKD now I am in 5 /They are so greedy the desk ppl are horrible overworked probably under paid as well/there were ppl I. The halls with no seats as I remember /I wished I never ever went there now my life is in a precarious position b coz I put a lot of faith and trust in him/I should have recognized that u can’t be greedy and truly have ppls best interest at heart/they really need to be shut down/my best friend went as well he told her she had a wheat allergy put her on anti biopics only to… find out that she had a hernia near to rupture/I implore with anyone out there /to observe all the waiting sick patients /that alone is a RED FLAG/RUN

The place is an absolute disaster. Do not go if you want to feel better. They made my wife wait in their awful waiting area for over 2 hours with 103 fever. It was only after visiting the desk 3 times and asking when we would be seen that they finally saw her. Then they took blood and xRays and NEVER called with the results! She developed Pneumonia and had to nearly be hospitalized. We are still waiting for a call over a month from the day the blood test was taken. Stay away at all costs.

Front desk staff are ride unprofessional and unfair I had an appointment in the waiting area this familiar guy to them came in and address them all by names and the one of them in the back say don't worry I got you (of course in a low voice and sign language she does the billing )this is like 1 hr. 15 mins of me waiting he comes in a they call him in the room as I address this how come this person gets to go in before me and he just got in. Debbie (rude manner) said it doesn't work like that. So my question was how does it work? She couldn't answer while not even listening to me doing other things and not giving undivided attention.This is my 2 ND time there and definitely my last. They are so unprofessional they really have no business working and dealing with people.i am still waiting while they put my chart back and called someelse to go back to the room. That was my 1 hour and 45 mins wasted. I left without seeing the doctor. They never address my… concerns nor had the decency to call me . And once I ask they were all talking about it in the back. This place should be rehire professionals to work in the office. Unbelievable that you can still go into an office and have favoritism being displayed so openly. And just because you not the same color, race and not familiar with the names of the staff. Smdh. Sad.

A wonderful Doctor. Sometimes you have to what a while. But so worth it. Caring, doesn't rush, knowledgeable. The best!

I have been seeing Dr Shahkoohi for years. As other reviewers have noted, the wait is frequently quite long. However, when I have had an issue, he spends as much time as I need. If I have to wait it's because someone else needs more time that day. He is a fantastic diagnostician and treats me as a person not a disease. He frequently has PA or NP students and it is obvious that he is a good teacher. I would not go elsewhere, I just make sure to bring a book or a crochet project to pass the time

Doctor is okay, if you can wait long enough to see him. I've been several times in the past 3 months and have always waited at least 2 hours to see the doctor

Dr Shahkoohi always performed thorough checkups and follow-ups for my spouse, siblings, and I. He does a thorough investigation and only prescribes treatment if actually needed. He even took me in when I lost my insurance when I lost my job and helped me through a rough time in my life. I highly recommend him.
