Dr. Francisco Javier Miranda, MD

I scheduled an appointment for my 6 month old daughter to have a checkup 3 weeks ago I took off work to take her to the appointment and I forgot the insurance card (obviously my fault). I asked the staff if it would be an issue if I ran home to get it and that it would only take about 10 minutes to get back with the card. They said that would fine. When I returned 10 minutes later they began verifying insurance and inputting new patient information in the system. About 20 minutes passed and they finally told me that the nurse was refusing to see me because they had too many patients. During this entire 39 minute process I was the only person in the waiting room. I told them that they needed to find a way to get me in since they promised it would not be an issue if I had to run home for the insurance card. 8 told them that if they weren't going to see my daughter they should have told me that before they made me go home and then come back. At that time a very rude lady named Gloria came… out and told me that they would not be seeing my daughter and that it was "my job as a parent" to make sure I brought her insurance card. I explained that I had just moved to Beeville from Houston and my house was a little messy but that I had returned home quickly and brought back the card like the ladies at the front desk had asked me to do. She told me that since I was rude and had an attitude she was refusing to see me at which point I told her I was not rude until I realized her staff had lied to me and sent me home for no reason when they could have just requested me to reschedule the appointment right when they realized I didn't have the insurance card. At that point I told Gloria I wanted to speak to her manager and she told me she was one of the managers. I told her that she was not a very good one and I wanted to speak to the person in charge who runs the entire office. She then told me she was calling security because I was using profanity. I sat down and insisted that she go ahead and call security. A few moments later a manager came in and walked me to her office where she took a statement and still did not allow my daughter to see the doctor. She offered to reschedule the appointment at which point I told her that I would not be doing business with this office because if they treat parents like they treated me than I would hate to see how they would treat my child. She ensured me that they care "deeply" for their children in which case I replied that I was not able to see that. I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone! Poor staff that is lazy and can't follow through on a simple task like getting new patient records from their previous doctor. When it comes to our children we cannot allow people to treat them this way! I will be spending my hard earned money at a pediatrician who values my child and our business. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

This doctor and his staff are a waste of your time!! Dr Miranda was supposed to refer my son to a specialist, his staff was to do everything. 3 months had passed without word about a referral. The person who was in charge of referral forgot to make an appointment. 6 months later my son finally got into the specialist only to find out that Miranda's staff had not sent any of his file over. This put my sons appointment even farther behind. When asked by the specialists staff about his paperwork, Dr Miranda's staff were extremely rude. They told the specialist that they didn't have time to get to it today. That my son is not the only patient that they had so he would have to wait. Dr. Miranda's staff are completely incompetent. If Miranda lets his staff operate like that, what does that say about him??? Beyond furious!!!
