Dr. Frank William Schroeder, DO

Was referred to him through a physical therapist who's clinic I believe is a lawyers pool as most of the patients I talked to were also lawyer referred. But to the Dr. I was seen for a apparent torn ACL and minicus. He was going to refer me to a different surgeon after he decided it was beyond his capabilities. I can respect that. I also injured my back and when I asked him when he was going to look at it. I got the answer "you wasn't referred to me for that. Anyways never had any surgery on my knee and it's doing great, but still trying to find a reliable Dr. for my back. My accident was approx. 11 months ago. The staff and Dr. treated me well and was attentive to my needs, but it just didn't work out to my expectations

My father-in-law had surgery by this Dr. Unfortunately he is very unprofessional. His demeanor and tone are horrible. If you want to be treated like a child then this is the Dr. For you. If you want to be treated like an adult- go somewhere else.

Dr. Schroeder is an awesome doctor. He really helped me with my pain. Very direct though. He's sweet, but a no non-sense type of guy. I would go to him again.

I was injured in a car wreck and tore my muscles in my leg. This Doctor was referred to me through my attorney what I call "the network pool". I was scheduled to have a non-invasive surgery which turn out to be invasive. Prior to that surgery there were no calls informing me of the type of surgery that I had had changed. As I was being prepped for surgery he was not clear and he was not speaking loudly about what he was going to do. After surgery, the discharged paperwork was as if I had non-invasive surgery. I had to call and ask the nurse how do I care for my leg because I was not given the right discharge paperwork. Also, the office that my surgery was performed in was more like a temporary rental office because he had other location that he worked out of. I schedule an appt. for a follow-up visit to a location that he moved from and there were no calls informing or asking me to re-schedule. When I was able to meet with him and I asked him about the details of my surgery he could… not give me any concrete information. I met with him a few more times and every time his story would change about my surgery and what he found. After that last visit I asked for my medical records because I did not trust anything that he said. At that time his office staff was acting very peculiar. Some time after that he moved his office to San Antonio, TX. where he is still practicing. As of today my inner thigh appears concaved as if there is no muscle. And I have a long, wide horrible scar length wise across my leg. Avoid this doctor, he has a license to disfigure you for life.

When I made the appointment they said they would get records from the ER at Methodist, in reference to 2 fractures of the fibula and serious spains of the knee and ankle. I called 4 hours before my appointment to make sure they got the ER report and X-rays. The told me they did not have them but would get anything they needed when I arrived. After 45 minutes the came for me. They wanted X-rays, so the full lower leg splint was removed and trashed. About 10 X-rays were taken. Then I was moved on my crutches to an exam room far away. I thought there would be a wheelchair in an orthopedic surgeons facility. After another 30 minutes Dr Schroeder came in and said he saw no fractures, wrapped a laceration on the shin, and sent me on my way. He didn't even wrap the ankle or knee; I had to tell them to go get the 5 Ace Bandages I came in with, I was keeping those even though they had trashed the 2-piece fiberglass splint from the ER. I picked up the ER X-rays and got a second opinion from… another orthopedic and sports medicine specialist who instantly saw both fractures and confirmed the WR doctor's findings. I was put in a support boot and told DO NOT put any weight on the ankle if I wanted it to heal correctly. I can't say if Dr Schroeder needs a better tech, or better X-ray equipment, or just needs to take more time reviewing the information. What I can say, is that no info was gathered from the ER, no concern was given for proper joint support, and my whole condition was MIS-DIAGNOSED. Follow up has been cancelled.

So my mother took a fall in a parking lot and tore her rotator cuff, shortly after visiting with her Primary Care Physician she was unfortunately recommended to this quack for surgery, she has all her tests, gets diagnosed and proceeds in to having surgery done. He cuts out two bones leaving her shoulder slumped down looking and in extreme pain more than when she had the accident to this day, and this was several years ago. Her follow up appointment was shortly after and she told him about her extreme pain and how she was feeling, n he replies back real hateful "WELL ITS NOTHING I DID!" and slams a shot into her to relieve the pain which did nothing. Yes I would avoid this quack at all costs.

Dr. Schroeder is a wonderful orthopedic surgeon. I recommend seeing Dr. Schroeder before going to another Orthopedic Doctor.

This is the worst Dr I ever met. I wouldn't not recommend him to anyone. He did a elbow surgery to me. This is the worst experience i ever had with a Dr the way he talks to patient with no compassion with no feeling how the patient is feeling. Very rude. He made me cried before my surgery, and I should have taken that as my warning sign to what was coming after my results, and then again after my office visit with him. So pleaseeee do not let this Dr do any kind of surgery cause I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
