Dr. Gary Paul Colon, MD

The staff was awful. I was not important enough to see or even meet the Dr. I saw the PA for about 10 minutes. Doing that 10 minutes she left the room 3 times: she had to ask her Medical Assistant about pacemakers and MRIs which I thought she should know all about, she was also called out of the room twice. The second time she said she was turning my appointment over to the Medical assistant. She was not interested in the previous MRIs and reports I brought. I have only been to one worse Dr office visit in my life. I definitely got the hint they were too busy to be bothered with me.

I recently had open back surgery performed to repair a grade 2 slippage at L5 S1. I had put it off for years because I had heard horror stories but 5 years later I could endure the pain no more and after meeting with several surgeons I finally decided on Dr. Colon. I am so happy I did. He has a great bedside manner, he patiently answered ALL my questions, went through all the possible side effects, was honest about his success rate and completely put me at ease. After meeting his staff I was even more assured I had picked the right person. Long story longer, he was at my bedside every morning to see how I was doing and seemed genuinely concerned about my wellbeing. I was up and walking the very first Day and was able to stand erect for the first time in months. It’s been almost three weeks now and as long as I don’t do anything stupid I should be back to normal in a month. I highly recommend him and his excellent staff.

Very self-righteous and smug. A 'know-it-all' who appears to take notes, but then makes statements contrary to what he was told. Thinks he is so smart that he doess't need to listen to the patient. Makes claims the patient told him something that simply could not be true.

My husband had several botched spine surgeries in Ohio. He was confined to a wheelchair. After a month-long stay in a noted hospital in Cleveland, we turned to Dr Colon. He saw the problem, verified it with MRI, performed surgery and freed my husband from the wheelchair.

DID A LAMINECTOMY-- 5 YEARS AGO--FEEL FINE TODAY

I spent more than 9 months in agony , I went the whole 9 yards , physical therapy , tens , pain meds , spine injection . Finally I was sent to Dr. Colon , he saw me on a Friday , operated on Monday and I walked out of the hospital PAIN FREE that evening !! I love Dr. Colon and I highly recommend him .about ten minutes

I was vacationing in Naples FL when I went to the NCH (annex) ER for severe back pain. After being evaluated for 6 hrs., I learned I had a vertebral fracture. The ER MD spoke with Dr. Colon who reviewed my x-rays, CAT Scan & MRI. Because I was in severe pain, Dr. Colon asked that I be transferred by ambulance to the main NCH hospital so I could be admitted. I think that because of the ER MD's willingness to be intermediary, I got prompt service. All of my care while I was in FL was ER followed by surgery.

After an MRI and back surgery 2 1/2 yrs ago, I returned for back pain and physcial therapy was prescribed without a new MRI for an accurate diagnosis.

I have nothing but praises for Dr Colon...after significant surgery involving a fusion, I am now back to my old self and golfing and participating with my grandchildren again. This was 10 years ago.

I am currently seeing Dr. Colon in anticipation of back surgery . I do have a relationship with him as he operated on my husband a number of years ago, I find him very pleasant, caring and a good listener.
