Dr. George A. Fielding, MD

I would like to warn everyone who is considering Dr. G. Fielding as a doctor for a surgery. Do a research online before considering this Doctor. He had multiple malpractice cases against him in Australia and in US. Few patients died because of his malpractice. My mother and I ignored this fact and relied only on recommendation of another NYU doctor to make a decision to let Dr Fielding perform surgery on my mom. Today I regret so much that We picked him for a surgery - I lost my mother due to his malpractice. Do not listen to recommendations from another NYU doctors. It’s all business for them. I miss my mother now due to negligence and incompetence of Dr Fielding and entire NYU Langone ICU Staff.

Please do some research prior to selecting this doctor. He has multiple lawsuits that show a scary pattern. He has a seriously spotty record at best with multiple deaths and serious injuries. His focus is on the money rather than the health and safety of his patients. It's sad that NYU is more concerned with making money that ensuring their patient's safety. BEWARE!!!

I would recommend Dr. George Fielding for any kind of bariatric surgery. I had the lap band 14 years ago and lost 80 pounds and have kept it off. He was and still is a pleasure to work with. His follow up is wonderful and he has a wonderful bedside manner.

Pls. google lawsuits and reconsider before you commit to surgery with this Dr. Although the staff at NYU is beyond excellent

I had surgery many years ago and I still to this day keep in touch with Dr. Fielding and his staff , they are all so caring and helpful to any question , problem , I cant say anything bad at all about Dr. Fielding and his staff I love them all Thank you all so much

Dr. Fielding is extremely personable so it seems as if he cares. I had continuing problems with the lapband and he and his staff did not investigate or provide any answers or solutions. As a result of this lack of proper treatment and follow up, I have sustained a severe and permanent destruction of my esophagus. I was never warned of this possibility. Check out the malpractice cases.

After many years of research, and waiting for the Lap Bands and procedures to be perfected, I investigated the surgeons. I would recommend Dr. Fielding to anyone who is ready to make the decision for Lap Band Surgery. He is a superlative Surgeon as is his wife. An exceptional department at NYU the staff, (many of whom have had the procedure, including Dr. Fielding) are very supporting, informative and helpful. Dr. Fielding is a master in this field. Please consider him before making your final decision. You will be happy that you did. As am I. Many Thanks to Dr. Fielding and his staff at NYU for everything.

Dr Fielding is highly skilled and very caring. He is a wonderful DR in everyway and I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Fielding was my last hope. I was told I was not a candidate for Gastric Banding. He assured me he could perform the surgery and did so very successfully. I would recommend Dr. Fielding to anyone who is looking for the best. I also found his bedside manner charming and, while his practice is extremely busy, I felt like his only patient.
