Dr. George Lane Stankevych, MD

He delivered my first child who os now 28 years old: i was young, he said to call work(walmart i mchenry) and let them know I would not be there that day. It was 10 days before my son was due. I laughed at the doctor. He left back at me. He also knew that when we met, I said whatever you do when this baby comes out do not put him on my stomach. Each month when we met, he would ask me if that was still my wish. My son was born 10 days early. I did call into work and he didn’t put the baby on my stomach before he cleaned it off. And to this day, I still think he looks like Liam Neeson.

I have delivered twice with his office, had 2 miscarriages, and now am pregnant with a baby who is facing heart surgery. I cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness and diligence, as well as respect for my religious and moral needs. I am now seeing specialist in preparation for my son's birth and it makes me appreciate their office even more. Some doctors I have seen over the past months have made me feel like I am a laboratory subject, seem to have no concern for my well being, and have left me stressed and in tears. It has been a relief each time to go back "home" to Dr. Stan and Gretchen. Thank you for all the care and concern that you put into your practice!

When you go there it’s like you’re visiting family. They really care about you and listen to what you have to say. Dr. Stankevych makes you feel comfortable and explains everything very well.

You are the best

I have been a patient for over 20 years. Dr Stan delivered both my babies (c-sect) and was always kind and concerned with all my questions and fears. He also did my surgery for terrible periods. I cannot believe the reviews I am reading are about the same man. He always takes the time to talk to me and see if I have any questions about anything. His nurses are pleasant as well and have been there forever. I wouldn't go anywhere else for GYN care.

I was very hopeful to see this doctor; it turned quickly when I started asking questions. He was pushing a certain procedure and then remarked that I should see a couple of other physicians. No, couldn't put on that paper gown and let him explore female bits. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I did not want a male doctor and he was involved in surgery and he made a comment saying "you didn't want me to pop your bag but now I am gonna be all up inside you"! He also told my husband "I am gonna go play with your wife's intestines now". Just wow!

I really like Dr. Stan for his personality and bedside manner. I have had some questionable advice from him, however. The nurses and telephone staff are cold, and more often than not, I was made to feel like any phone call was burdensome. My medical history of cesarean and my discomfort with the idea of a vbac seemed unimportant, and I feel that had I stayed with the practice, a vbac would have been what would happen contrary to my comfort level. Unfortunately, I had to go elsewhere because I just grew too uncomfortable to stay in this practice. If I were not having children, and just seeing him as a gynecologist, I would have been very pleased with the office.

This doctor almost cost me my life, he never saw me personally and had his "nurse practitioner" see me for years and I went to see another doctor only to find out this office was wrong and I had a very serious condition all along. Thank God I saw a different doctor or I would not be here today to write this review. He should not be practicing.

Dr. Stankevych has the most caring bedside manners I've ever dealt with. He delivered my 3rd child and he made me feel comfortable and cared for. An excellent choice for any woman.
