Dr. Gregory Carlson

Watch out! It is my opinion that this man is a (blank) and his ego exceeds his work. I was hesitant to have lumbar fusion, he told me that he could fix me. I was still hesitant, then he sold me the story that he did the same surgery to his own mother. I pray that his mother did not suffer, as much as I have. Just days after first surgery, I was in pain. He told me I had a hematoma and that he had to revisit the surgery site for a clean out. Well, I woke from surgery and he had placed extensive hardware in my back fusing my pelvis to my spine. This was done without my informed consent and it was experimental. Then, 5-6 months later he informs that he has to operate once again to remove extensive bolts. So, 15 months after 2nd surgery, I had my 3rd. This time I woke unable to breath because my lungs had filled with fluid. I was treated with a nebulizer and proceeded to choke and chough up the fluid in order to breath properly. Then, I was sent home and 8 days later, I went to ER with… difficulty breathing. There, I tested positive for a blood clot, but work up showed no blood clot. I believe the blood clot occurred during surgery and I was sent home. This was a work comp procedure and all parties have covered up all instances through classifying everything. He never owned up to anything, He is very powerful in who he knows, and things just disappear for him. I find it very unsettling that the Social Security Administration shares the same elevator with him.

Get a neurologist and 2nd opinion. My lumbar fusion resulted in 3 additional repairs and 2 spinal leaks. He finally figured out I needed pelvic support another surgery as a obtained a sacral fracture after 1st surgery. I am disabled now divorced and had two breakdowns. My neighbor also had him do lumbar fusion and is in a nursing home at 62 yrs requires 24/7 care. Tragic!

He promised my mother he would help her back pain and take away the burning in her feet. She had the surgery she is suffering more now than before. He never once came to see her after surgery she was in the hospital one week and in Rehabilitation Hospital 2 weeks he never once came to see her. Every time my mom goes to his office he's never there she always sees his assistant nobody knows what is going on she is suffering so much she is in pain constantly he did nothing but give her promises and lies and made her life so miserable she's in serious pain all the time she can barely walk she's lost 30 lbs because of all the pain he put rods and screws in her back and then told her well he couldn't fix it maybe he made a mistake or maybe he missed something. Because she's in excruciating pain and he has no answers for her. Do not hire this doctor do not do not do not.

He does not care about the patients that presents themselves to his medical center, that he founded. He also relies on a non-medically trained office manager to make decisions, based on lies, to determine whether or not a patient will be allowed to continue to receive care from the doctors at his medical center. I was patient profiled, due to my many neurological disabilities, hearing difficulties, other disabilities, medical issues, as well as, chronic ongoing pain. I was wrongfully dismissed based on the lies of his office manager (Her titled is Chief Operating Officer, which she does not deserve.) Since, being wrongfully dismissed from the medical, my pain and other orthopedic issues have not been addressed. I was under the care of three really excellent doctor and orthopedic surgeons at his medical center. I have not been able to locate comparable care since being banished from the medical center 26 months ago. His medical center says sthat patients come first. Dr.… Carlson does not put patients first, however the two surgeons and doctor that I saw do put patients first. If you need to see a spine surgeon, I vehemently would not recommend Dr. Gregory Carlson.

I am suffering from pseudo authoresses due to a failed neck operation. I live with daily pain and was forced to retire at 55 after being promised I will be back to work after my operation and therapy by doctor Carlson. Doctor Carlson is very charismatic and convinced me somehow to get the operation with that guarantee. I'm sure the doctor tried his best but he not once ever apologized. I called several times for a second operation price and after the 5th time they said it will be over $100000 something I can't afford. The least you can do for me doctor Is to comp me for a free MRI to see how I am doing after 5 years. Is that too much to ask? I'm sure my name is still on file. David Montano

My appointment was at 830am. At 845am I was called and leaded to a room. The physician was about to go over my mri but left the room and I waited for over an hour and still not being seen. I was planning to leave but the physician told me I am next. Seriously?!

Don’t let yourself get butchered by Dr. Gregory, Carlson he operated on my husband twice first a fusion which he placed one screw wrong and was hurting one of his nerves second one he removed the hardware which after he had an infection from surgery for two months-several patients he used to work and was fired at orthopedic speciality institute. Most of patients are seeing an amazing doctor in Orange. Ruined several life’s with his butchering back fusions.

Best Orthopedic surgeon, most intelligent MD and he has the humanity I trust to find answers for unusual problems.

I've had two c-spine surgeries by Dr. Carlson. He has been a very competent, compassionate surgeon, who has sat down with me before and after each surgery to explain my diagnosis, my surgery, and my prognosis. He has never made me feel rushed, and has given me his undivided attention whenever I have expressed a concern, or had questions for him. He truly is an extraordinary person!
