Dr. Gregg Louis Caporaso, MD

Not worth my copay.

I found Dr. Caporaso to be a very competent diagnostician. He is business-like and focused in his approach. He took the time to explain things precisely and thoughtfully responded to all of my inquiries. He tends to stay within his professional role so if you also happen to need some hand-holding, he is probably not the person to see. On the other hand, I left his office feeling confident that I had taken a large step toward the resolution of my medical issue. I would recommend this doctor.

If you have been diagnosed or suspect you suffer from Chronic Lyme or various Lyme co-infections, don't see this doctor. He contributes to the stereotype of big box medical thinking that one dose of antibiotics "cures" Lyme and that no neurological symptoms consistent with MCIDS or Chronic Lyme are "believeable". This patient was told that anxiety or panic attacks we responsible for parethesias, encephalitic swelling, increased heart rate, high BP, electrical-like pains shooting in the limbs, insomnia, deep pain in joints, visual and auditory sound sensitivities. No, doctor. Babesia and/or Bartonella are to blame and need informed treatment. Wake up, doctor ... Lyme is beyond epidemic. Learn from the Integrative Medical Community and don't let another of your "patients" go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. If you do, irresponsibly, you too, partner with spirochetes to destroy health and happiness in humans searching for a cure. I would never recommend this doctor to even my worst enemy after what I experienced at his office. To begin with wait times are 30-45 minutes. After waiting for roughly 40 minutes, I entered his office. He did not correctly remember my medical history. You'd think after waiting over 30 minutes, he could have at least reviewed my file. To make matters worse, he barely read the description I gave him about my neurological event. He was completely unsympathetic even after I was crying following his complete ineffectiveness and rudeness. He misquoted the description I gave him, which made sense, as he spent maybe 3 seconds at the most reading it. Despite having obvious signs of a serious neurological disorder, he chalked it up to something completely harmless, and gave me the go ahead to drive again after he and my primary care physician instructed me not to. To make matters worse, he flat out disagreed with the only third party description of what happened during the neurological episode… (I was unconscious for the event). I am afraid now that I am going to get into a serious accident driving following this misdiagnosis. I am getting a second opinion, but in the mean time, I have had more neurological symptoms. I was expecting to be prescribed important medicine following my first or second visit. Instead, he has done absolutely nothing besides scheduling expensive tests. If he had prescribed medicine, and actually listened to me, then maybe I wouldn't have had the continued neurological episodes. I have nothing good to say about this doctor.

Dr. Caporaso is thorough and has good medical instincts.

I find Dr. Caporaso to be knowledgeable and thorough. As to bedside manner, it's difficult to tell whether he's "caring" or not, given his inscrutable demeanor.
