excellent doctor takes time to listen

I am a new patient of Dr. Kanwal. I must say I was immediately impressed by the amount of time he took to discuss my medical history and family medical history. He took the time to listen to my concerns and he was honest with me, I'd say brutally honest but in a kind way. He is not wanting to throw meds at you and you send on your way. He truly wants to find the SOURCE of your problems and treat the source, not the symptoms. It was very refreshing to be able to speak candidly with my doctor and feel like every word I said was listened to. He not only is now looking out for my physical health, but he was concerned for my mental health and my social stability at home and in public. He offered me great personal advice which I welcomed, but I know most patients only seek medical advice. I welcomed his over all approach to a whole health concerns. He was very polite, took his time to explain things and answer ANY questions I had. His staff is very nice and caring as well. … Which is shocking in this area. Don't try to pull the wool over his eyes, he'll see right through. I highly respect his treatment approach, method & concerns. He has taken on a lot of new patients so making an appointment on a whim is not easy to do. But it's not his fault. He's a great doctor, therefore his practice is busy.. be patient with appointment scheduling.
