Dr. Haleh Nekoorad-Long, MD

Dr. Long has cared for my mother for over a decade. She is a good listener, likes older adults, understands the psychiatric and physiologic changes, and I trust her judgement. If I were in need of a geriatric psychiatrist I would turn to her immediately. Does she return calls promptly? Depends on the urgency. Does she run on time? Sometimes not. But then again, I understand she is trying to help someone who is unwell. Bottom line: if you want someone who will care about your parent and the impact of their illness on your family, if you want an accurate diagnosis, you won't mind spending a little more time in the waiting room: she is the one for you. And remember: you never know when it will be your loved one's turn to need more of her time.

Dr. Nekoorad-Long has been my doctor for nine years. When I first met her, I didn't know which way was up or down or carry a full sentence or know how to be happy. At the time I had experienced a nervous breakdown. With her patience, dedication and treatment, I now can function fully, handle a complicated self-owned business and have finally learned what being happy is. Thank you, Dr. Nekoorad-Long, for giving me my life back.

Dr, Long has saved my mom's life, or at least made it worth living. She really cares for my mom and me and seems to understand us. Yes, sometimes we wait 20 minutes, but she is worth it and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Mom's insurance doesn't apply here but I'm happy to pay out-of-pocket for results. Wish all our doctors were like her.

I have a complex situation and Dr Nekoorad-Long was able to successfully diagnose my multi-factoral problem(s) (something of a joke between us) giving me a much better than even chance at a good life. My problems are serious, life threatening so in the face of normal medical practice, Dr Nekoorad-Long has out preformed most of her colleagues who, I should add, exacerbated the problems by over medicating and using the wrong medications for some 15 years.
