Heather Bruckschen, MSCP, LPC, CSAC

Heather Bruckschen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor with experience in mental health and substance abuse. She believes therapy is a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. She also believes it is a collaborative relationship built on trust. Heather has extensive training in trauma and substance abuse and uses a blend of CPT, IFS and MRT and other techniques to help people recover and develop a deeper capacity for self-connection. She works with a variety of issues from daily overwhelm and life transitions to more consuming symptoms. Her work is depth oriented, compassion focused, and client centered. Your family patterns, health, stress, history, childhood experiences — all of it shapes how you feel today. She relies on strong empathetic skills to help clients draw on internal resources to affect purposeful change. It is my belief that the answers lie within and that my job is to facilitate a safe environment and support the …emergence of non-judgmental awareness, which enables change. She helps the nervous system get unstuck from an overactive state, teaching you to soothe an overactive nervous system, and hoping to help you identify and express your needs in a new way, that others will understand.I believe we have to be 100% present in our life experiences and avoid doing anything half-heartedly. Mistakes and heartache are part of life, to rise above and move forward with skills learned in therapy, can lead to a very rewarding, productive life.
