Dr. Heidi Martin Hullinger, MD

In April 2024, I woke up with excruciating neck pain, ended up in the ER, and they told me I needed to see a neurosurgeon. After visiting two neurosurgeons in the Montclair, NJ, area, I eventually found Dr. Heidi Hullinger and her wonderful staff (Sabrina & Stacy) in late-May 2024, was able to schedule my 1st visit with her in late-June 2024, and after a consultation from what ended up being a third opinion, scheduled my TADR (Total Artificial Disc Replacement) surgery with her on July 10th. She performed a successful TADR surgery the morning of the 10th, and I went home on July 11th. I had my 1st follow-up visit 2 weeks post-op, had a 2nd follow-up visit 6 weeks post-op, had a 3 month post-op visit, and a 6-month post-op visit. Zero issues with my neck during any of them. I originally wrote this review on October 17, 2024. It's now early-December 2025, and I had my 1-year follow-up visit with her a few months ago. Most importantly: Dr. Hullinger has great bedside manner, she cares… about the welfare of her patients, and I can move my left arm again. Prior to my TADR surgery, I couldn't move my left arm above my solar plexus. An hour after my surgery, I had about 75% of my movement back...I could move my arm above my shoulder (basically, immediate results). I did PT from September to December of 2024 and through that, my full range of motion returned. Strength training is on-going. I look forward to July 2026 when I see Dr. Hullinger for my 2-year post-op follow-up and fully expect to tell her that I'm still doing great. She 100% changed my life for the better with the surgery she performed.

I visited Dr Hullinger today for a consultation regarding my lower back pain accompanied by sciatica down my right buttock and leg. After being examined by her PA who was extremely professional and thorough Dr Hullinger came in and performed her own thorough examination, reviewed my MRI films as well as films that were taken in her office upon arrival. She spent well over 1 hour explaining all my options with myself and my wife. She put the both of us at ease with any decisions we will make. I will be following up with our collaborative decision on treatment course with her. I would also like to say the entire staff was courteous and professional and did so with smiles on their faces

Wow! Excellent Dr, spends whatever time it takes to correctly evaluate the problem and surrounding issues. Very knowledgeable and professional, goes into great detail so you understand, wish I knew her sooner. Robert Kubichek Hamburg NJ

An amazing young Doctor. She is totally devoted to her patients. She was chosen by NJ TWO "TOP DOCS" for a reason. Her entire life she has excelled in whatever she has participated in. It won't be too long before she is recognized as a "TOP DOC"
