Dr. Helen Kuomei Wu, MD

I have had eye surgery performed by two different doctors, the 2nd one was Dr. Wu. There was a world of difference between the two surgeries. The first was a waste of time and only accomplished more money in the eye doctor's acct. The second was performed by a caring and qualified surgeon, Dr. Wu, which was very successful. I would recommend her to anyone, I travel from Rhode Island to see her, it is worth the ride, because I know I am getting the very best care possible.

Worth the wait

I went to see Dr. Woo specifically to inquire about an intra-occular lens transplant becauase of my severe nearsightedness. After MANY hours of waiting in the office and having way too many tests, it ended up that I was only a candidate for "cataract surgery." I had both eyes done and instead of going to no contacts and just 2.50 reading glasses as did my parents, uncles, aunts, relatives, and friends, my eyes were ruined and I need to wear glasses full-time! After 45 years of wearing contacts, I was/am extremely unhappy!! My vision has changed 5 times in the 2 years since my surgery!!! Dr. Woo should have and could have changed the lenses within the first three months of surgery! This information came from a well-respected colleague of hers! Needless-to-say, Dr. Woo may be a great surgeon - but not for me!
