Dr. Holly J Avriette, PhD

I have seen many therapists but never have I had one disappear on me. I was in a bad place and I had about four or five sessions with her before she stood me up one morning. The psychologist she shared a suite with informed me she wasn't there and had no scheduled appointments that morning. This was after I had waited almost an hour in the waiting room. I tried calling her, no answer. Furious, I texted her and said I thought we had an appointment but apparently not so don't bother trying to reschedule or justify this behavior. I understand life happens, but a good psychologist would inform his or her patients of any unexpected issues that result in absence. It's part of the ethical code that she probably needs to refresh herself on. This happened after she had rescheduled twice on me because she allegedly had the flu. I thought maybe she would at least call or text me to explain what happened regardless of me telling her not to try and reschedule our appointment, but I heard nothing… and it's been about 9 months since then. Unless there was a sudden tragedy that resulted in her death, which I don't think because her business is still active on Google, a no call no show unacceptable. I should have reported her but I didn't bother once I read her reviews and realized that nobody in their right mind will give her business after reading the experiences of former patients. I just hope she's okay.

If I could rate this therapist at less than one star I would have. Beware of billing policies and don't let her hand you off to her husband Fox (who often won't take insurance). Get ready for snap judgements and a whole lot of control - not your own. Avriette is blunt and rude, unless talking about herself - which she does often. She like the sound of her own voice. Don't expect her to remember who you are, or what was said in any previous meeting. Her office looks like a thrift store blew up, and the dog (though it looks like a dog, doesn't move, and for all I know might have been dead)- can be a distraction to someone who might expect a semblance of professionalism. If you are one who seeks mental punishment - this is the doc for you.

This therapist needs to loose her license! PLEASE find someone else.

Worst therapy experience in my life. Condescending and belittling. Lousy marriage counselor. Destroyed my confidence and self esteem. Wish I would have seen her reviews before I saw her.

Dr. Avriette provides excellent care in her practice. She is knowledgeable, caring, and committed to her patients.

I have never written a bad review about anyone until now! Dr Avriette was uncaring and hurtful in both of our sessions with her. I walked away feeling worse than when I came in. She was rude, cold and callous! I am writing this review to warn other married couples about how damaging her counselling can be! My husband and I both felt she needs a new profession! She actually recommended divorce... when we were there to get help! Shame on you Dr Avriette!

I have had a very good experience with this therapist. I find her to be highly intelligent and very compassionate. Her memory amazes me - though she doesn't write notes while a patient is in her office, she recalls all the relevant details of my life story. She makes time for crisis appointments and returns phone calls in a timely manner.

I found this therapist to be practically semi conscious - unable to retain information and ill prepared to listen to anything except the sound of her own voice. Her rude and long suffering attitude was very costly and certainly in no way helpful. Our appointment was a waste of her time and mine. Unfortunately for me it was only a waste of money for me.

My experience with this psychologist was such that I can not recommend her. She needs her licence revoked! Unprofessional is an under statement.
