Dr. Huan Wang, MD

My wife fractured the dens of her C2 vertebra and Dr. Wang was a "breath of fresh air", as he is all about healing without surgery if possible. One of our neighbors who had a C1/C2 fracture highly recommended him after going to another practice where surgery was recommended - and she healed up without needing surgery under Dr. Wang's care.

At my initial visit I told Dr John Wang of pain in my right leg and an inability to walk more than 5 minutes. I also mentioned a burning in my left buttock, but my major concern was my right leg. I purchased the $15,000 12-week program to address the leg problem understanding the outcome was uncertain. At each session I would point to the painful area on my right leg and it was treated. After 12 weeks, the right leg pain persisted. At my last meeting with Dr. John, he apologized 3 times saying it was a "miscommunication" and his fault since he was treating the buttock; not the right leg. I was shocked! The doctor offered only one solution - another 12-week program with a 30% discount. For $10,000 additional he would now treat my right leg, although with little hope of success. Perhaps if he had been straight with me regarding the low success rate on a condition like mine, I would never have paid him for treatment at all. I feel duped. You form your own conclusion.

In a time of harried doctors who you get 8-10 minutes of actual listening time, Dr. Wang gives you the time you need to explain your pain, your fears and responds clearly with great calm and obvious expertise. In my first visit, he spent over an hour with me to explain options and I knew I could trust that he was looking after my health and not perceiving my case as an income maker. Dr Wang is from a disappearing breed of doctors who have both patience and excellent listening skills.

After having MRI and CT and Crazy done -he did not go over results instead wanted me to spend $10k on PRP and protein shakes with no recovery guarantee given The reports showed I have bone spurs on three places plus a kidney stone NO mention of issues just a HARD sell on a program that would do nothing to help me. Doctors like him are taki g advantage of people in chronic pain who are desperate

I have dealt with back issues for years. After 2 back surgeries in 6 months by a local orthopedic surgeon, I was still in pain and experiencing weakness in my leg. Dr. Wang was thorough in examining me and ordering films that would help him determine the source of my pain and weakness. Rather than rushing me into another surgery as the ortho surgeon suggested, he urged me to allow my body to heal and regain strength. He spends a lot of time during an office visit, much of it listening to me and counseling me on how to deal with my condition beyond just prescribing pain medication . I never feel rushed; he is patient and makes it clear that his personal philosophy directs him to treat the whole person, not just a list of symptoms. He is one of the best doctors I have ever encountered, and I am grateful to have found him.

I needed L5 surgery due to a serious condition which left me with a dropped foot syndrome. Other doctors told me to live with the condition. Dr Wang was recommended to me for another opinion and it was the best advice I had ever received. He spent more than an hour talking with me and listening. He never once (like most doctors) opened his computer or read MRI notes. Rather he looked right at me and gave me the time to explain my issues. I knew by the end of this first appointment ai could trust him and that I was in good hands for this surgery. Post surgery has confirmed I made a right decision. The most important lesson is if a doctor simply types into a computer for 10 minutes of your 15 minute exam - don’t go back. Dr Wang is not one of those people. A rare find in Sarasota.

I had the privilege of having Dr. Wang as my doctor for a spinal fusion, my first major procedure. His bedside manner is the best I have ever had, he takes his time with his patients and explains everything very clearly. He is compassionate and understanding. The surgery was successful and his follow up exceeded expectations. Highly recommend!

Dr Wong is one of the best doctors I have ever met! I first met him when I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, he took the time to explain the findings in a way that I understood, I recently had surgery on my cervical spine and he again, was wonderful to work with. He is compassionate and treated me with respect and understanding. I wish more doctors would be more like him...

Dr. Wang is excellent on neurosurgery, very knowledgeable and thorough.
