Dr. Hubert Emery Sie, MD

I have worked by Dr. Sie now for 16 years and I must say he is excellent! He is exceptionally intelligent and cares about his patients. He shows them compassion and is always available to help. Thank you for all you do! Lucie Rushmore RN

Dr. Sie was the hospitalist for my Dr while I was in the hospital. He is easy to understand. He is very decisive. He responded to nurses requests for orders when he wasn't in the hospital. I felt well taken care of.

Dr. Sie cares about his patients. He will speak with the patient and family about the diagnosis and treatment and keep them current himself or as they request. Many Hospitalist doctors do not communicate in a meaningful way with patients or family and appear interested in just fulfilling their duties for the hospital. Dr. Sie truly cares about his patients while at the same time fulling the hospitals requirements.

When my father was extremely sick due to an acute illness in Hoag Hospital this doctor spoke with my mother and me in my father's hospital room and started saying that he might not make it through the night. I had to interrupt and say, "Shouldn't we be talking about this outside the room?" not wanting my father to hear this. Shouldn't the doctor have known not to say things like this in a patient's room? Even worse, we went outside and he was the coldest, most callous person I have ever met, telling my mother that my father was likely to die that night. My parents were in their late 80s and had been married for over 60 years. My mother was crying and he did not show any compassion at all--he was like a robot. His lack of respect and caring was astonishing. As my mother and I knew would happen, my father did make it through the night, so his meanness was even more striking. Do not go to this doctor if you care about yourself or your loved ones.

Dr Sie is amazing. He really took the time to explain my condition and answer my questions.
