Dr. Isa S Canavati, MD

My main issue is with the nursing staff. These are the most rude, unprofessional lot of women I have ever dealt with. I am still healing so can’t speak of the Dr himself but the way I was treated by staff will keep me from going back and I will never recommend anyone to go there unless you like wait 3 hrs for, never get called back and get spoken to like you don’t matter.

I was referred to Dr. Canavati by my family physician in 1996 or 1997. I have always been totally convinced that he is nothing short of an earthly angel! He has SUCCESSFULLY completed at least FIVE. spinal surgeries for me. Included were 3 lower lumbar fusions, as well as one fusion in my neck. Eventually he said to me that he preferred to stop on a positive note, but that if I got down again, and understanging the increased risk of additional surgery, he would try again to get me back on my feet!!! I believe he is nothing short of a genius!!! I turn 74 next month and it's been at least ten years, I think since my last lower lumbar fusion. I still do my own yard work which includes mowing a large yard, many flower beds, tending to a pond stocked with fish, fruit trees, and tend to more than enough tomato, squash, and other vegetables for myself as well as numerous friends! I can no longer do all of my pruning and trimming because I have finally accepted that ladders are beyond my… geriatric abilities BUT I PRAISE AND RECOMMEND TO ALL WHO MENTION BACK PROBLEMS THAT THIS IS A TOTALLY TRUSTWORTY ANGEL OF MERCY THAT IS STILL TRUE TO THE HIPPOCRATIC OATH!!! I have also found his bedside manner as well as his ability to communicate in a very effective and impeccable manner to be beyond reproach! In consideration of my final planning, I would gladly donate my old bones to the IU Medical training program if they sre interested in checking my own credibility.

I was having numbness in my right hand to my elbow. Dr. Canavati was recommended. He looked at my mri and then sent me to see Dr. Stevens (Neurologist) for a second opinion. He agreed with Dr. Canavati on the procedure of the operation. The operation happened about 2 years ago and to this day I wish I would have done this several years ago. I hardly felt any pain from the operation. I would highly recommened him.

Did what needed to be done and did it right. Knowledgeable, professional, and my kind of Doc.

Dr Canavati is entirely patient oriented, highly professional and extremely skilled.

Dr. Canavati took the time to explain everything to me and answered all my questions. My post OP pardon was nothing compared to the pain I had before. He is an awesome doctor and surgeon. I would definitely recommend him!

Great doctor has fixed my lumbar spine and neck once great results wonderful man

I was to have a surgery performed but, the office cancelled the surgery and did so without contacting me or my primary physician. When I asked " I would like to speak with Dr. Canavati at his earliest convenience." I was told NO!!! I went through the chain of command all the way to the top. Each time being told NO! I was introduced to Doctor many years ago by my then physician. My first question was are you approachable. His answer was YES. The sad part is, I don't believe that Dr. Canavati is even aware of what transpired. It sad. In the end, Doctor gets the blame for allowing his staff to refuse a request, to speak to there dr. at his earliest convenience......

Dr. Canavati is my saving grace! I came to him in 2006. I could barely walk. He did a lower lumbar fusion. Since then, I have had (2) cervical fusions performed by him also. He is a wonderful surgeon, I recommend him to everyone I see and I would never let any other surgeon work on my spince except for him. Thank you and God Bless Dr. Canavati!!
