Dr. Istvan Takacs, MD

Very personable. Explains things very well and takes his time. Very reassuring.

We had a follow up appointment today with Dr Takacs. He took time to listen to our concerns and was encouraging as well. Today we saw the compassionate caring Dr side of him and left in better frame of mind and changed outlook.

Dr Takacs sold me on an experimental stimulator for tn. Has not been very effective and have not seen him since the surgery. Absolutely no followup and no interest. Only able to meet with PA. When I asked to meet with Dr, was told I would have to follow procedure

Dr. Takacs, In my opinion is as professional as they come. He performed DBS on me and spoke at length to me prior to surgery about what he was going to do and what my outcome would be. And he was very matter of fact about what he was going to do. I am very pleased with Dr. Takacs and would trust my life again in his hands.

I have never had any problems with Dr.Tacaks...He did my shunt surgery last year and have had about 20 visits with him since...he at first was a little blunt but then I came to realize he just doesn't sugar coat anything. I love how he will actually sit and explain everything and answer any and all question until you understand...unlike other doctors that make their 2 minute appearance then you never see them again...I would certainly recommend him to a friend.

this doctor implanted me with a rare brain device. He is grandiose, and has not replied to emails, phone calls and has failed to treat me or talk to me about problems with the device. He and MUSC , as a whole, have totally disrupted my life. I regret the day I every went to MUSC and would not recommend even a dying person to go there. I would drive 200 miles out of my way to get better help. If you don't believe me just get your medical records.

When he tells you something it is as good as gold. He has fixed my neck once and I have another problem and I'm going to him. The last surgery went so well I walked out and went home the same day.... and he had been in my neck for about 4 to 6 hours. So you think about that! His bedsided manner may be low but who cares because he does the job right.
