Dr. Moore and the Coastal Bend Eye Center is a great place with excellent customer service. I recommend them to everyone

This is my second review as the first was deleted! I was referred to Dr Moore by a friend as I knew of no Ophthalmologists in area. My problem was night vision and beginning of cataracts. Dr Moore encouraged the surgery altho he admitted the cataracts were borderline of being approved by insurance company. As I wasn't sure of my insurance for following year, agreed to surgery of left eye but wanted to wait on right eye when he reminded me I had met my deductible and should proceed with right eye surgery. I don't know what happened but when he began surgery. I tried to tell him the eye anesthesia wasn't working but he told me "Don't talk" and proceeded with the very painful procedure. I developed three fluid bags under each eye and now, four months later, continue to have bags which are not going away. The eyes sting and itch continually. When I returned to office shortly after procedure showing him the bags, he laughed in my face and said I'd been blowing out too many candles!!… I have finally decided I will need to consult another physician to see what is going on with my eyes as the night vision isn't better and the swelling under the eyes continue! Dr Moore is very rude; doesn't take time to visit with his patients! I have asked for the surgical report (re meds used) and have yet to receive same. One would think a reputable (?) physician would be concerned about their patient and question whether they were possibly allergic to the medication used; also when a patient says the eye surgery is hurting, a physician should stop what he's doing and inquire as to the pain he causing! Hopefully, another physician can help me. If not my only option is Lasik or cosmetic surgery.

My cataract surgery did not work. After one month, I still cannot see clearly. I do not feel I am being treated with concern for my eyesight. I plan to get a second opinion with another doctor.

I had to ask for my money back... he relies on specifics/ to calculate parameters for surgery from technicians for his information/ I was going to have and the tech's admitted to me they did not know what they were doing. Scared me to death my eyes were at stake!
