Dr. James Foster Asbury, MD

My mother was in the hospital recently and Dr Asbury did a really good job taking care of her. She got better and is now at home. Dr. Asbury saw my mother every day and answered all my questions. Nurses were also very nice.

I recently went to Methodist Hospital because I was having trouble breathing and I was so worried. Dr. Asbury saw me that day I was admitted and he was was amazing. He took the time to explain everything clearly, was very responsive, and checked on me several times to make sure I was improving. I felt that he was really listening to my concerns and was taking good care of me. I’m very grateful for the excellent treatment I received and I my stay at the hospital was short.

I am currently a post surgical infection patient and Dr Asbury is supposed to be the attending on call. After waiting for over 22 hours with no treatment plan and Dr Asbury not answering his numerous pages, his nurse practitioner came to see me. I was scolded for mentioning Dr Asbury's lack of communication and unprofessionalism. I had better not be charged for any visits with him because I will file a claim of insurance fraud.

As many have written here, Dr Asbury is never to be seen. He billed for services and I never saw him in my three day stay at the hospital. Even when i needed to be released he could not be found and my surgeon came in to release me. Paperwork was falsified within the hospital claiming he released me and that is not true. He has turned my bill over to a claims department in less that 90 days. The hospital will not do anything because they have looked at the file and said he signed it. Stay clear of this guy. He is a liar and a crook. Also, ask the doctor who will be providing your service if he will be the one assigned to you in the hospital. I didnt and that is how i got trapped into Dr Asbury.

He signed off on my chart, in the nurses station at Texas Orthopedic, but never came and visited me, or ordered any tests. My surgeon and the surgeon's PA came and visited my daily, and there was not any further care needed. Then, he charged me $510, $165 and $165. I refuse to pay a doctor that did not provide any professional care, nor even came and introduced himself or examined me. So, he turns me into the credit bureau. I am not paying him anything.

My mother was under the care of this doctor,. He did not appear to examine her on a regular basis while in hospital and she almost died.due to extreme negligence.

We are very pleased with him. He's exceptionally kind and just a great all round doctor!
