Dr. James Chan

He has to be the rudest, most kurt, and down right uncompassionate doctor I have ever come across in my life. While HE explained my symptoms without asking me about them and when I asked questions he completely dismissed me. I have never seen such horrible bedside manner. After he left the room I was in tears and the nurses that were in the room told me that he had no right to talk to me the way he did. The nurses were apauled of his treatment towards me. He is rude, kurt, disrespectful, and just a horribly mean person. Do yourself a favor and find a great neurosurgeon in Agoura hills!!!

O....M....G.... I walked into Dr Chans chair today with a #8 pain. I took the elevator cuz the stairs hurt too bad. This doc did a few exams and a couple X-rays. Said do this and that then gave me a shot of something. I walked out literally with NO pain. Took the stairs down too. Ok sooooo you gotta understand, she went to school for who knows how many years just to spend 1/2 hr with me to make me pain free. She was wonderfully nice and very professional. You all just better try this for yourself. She’s a keeper.

Dr Chan has been my hero for the last 30 years. He has performed multiple, successful surgeries on me. He is the only neurosurgeon I trust because he is brilliant and cares deeply about his patients. God bless him.

I wish I could rate higher. Dr Chan has taken care of me & my family the past 30 yrs. He is kind, caring, direct and an outstanding surgeon.

I was so appalled by the way this doc treated my loved one. He was insensitive as to explaining the findings and even answering the patient's questions. He was insulting to how the patient concerns and just kept saying " just go to your primary doctor". I was not even sure why went to see him. Even with my as the advocate for my loved one he acted like I was not in the room. If he only knew I am a health care worker and know how patients should be treated. I would not recommend this doc and will definitely find a more competent and patient sensitive doc who is more attentive to their needs and concerns.

Dr. Chan is the tops in his field. Great surgeon

The most humiliating, rude, and insensitive Doctor I have ever dealt with in my life. It is very unfortunate to have someone make you feel stupid everytime you answer a question. I walked out crying. He lacks people skills and his sense of arrogant sarcasm is very sad. He didn't even introduce himself with, he started with " So what's wrong with you." Very sad.

Has absolutely no bed side manners what so ever. In the way he speaks and his method of checking if a patient has sensation, it's as if he has forgotten he is dealing with a human being. Worst experience ever.

I walked into an empty office, which says a lot. I went for an opinion which he refused to give me. He appears to be a narrow minded and rude person... Strangest interaction that i've ever had with a health care professional in my 66 years on the planet.

We have known Dr. Chan for over twenty years now. He has done 2 back surgeries on my husband. He has been nothing but competent, kind and caring. He explains everything thoroughly and answered all questions honestly and patiently. We would highly recommend Dr. Chan to anyone looking for an outstanding neurosurgeon.
