Dr. James Christie Nunley, MD

I had an appendectomy with Dr. Nunley. He visits me in the emergency room before the surgery. They charged me for a visit that insurance did not accept it. Insurance clarified that they should not charge me for a visit on the same day of surgery. However, the premier surgical specialist did not accept it. While I was trying to solve this issue, they send my bill to the collection company, and I was charged 400$ for the visit by the collection company. It is worth mentioning that I ended up with a hernia after the surgery.

It is worth to mention that I ended up with a hernia in the place of their surgery. When I called them and told them the issue, they wanted to charge me for an office visit for checking the problem that they were responsible. I refused to go to the office because I didn't want to pay to somebody who doesn't want to check the issue of after surgery for free. I recommend that nobody should go here.

Dr. Nunley treated me with respect and didn't talk down to me. I appreciated his bedside manner and surgical skill.

Very intelligent and great at what he does. Good bedside manner. He doesn't ignore patients who other doctors refuse to even see. Easy to get in.

This was my first time ever having surgery so, as to be expected, I was nervous. Dr. Nunley and the staff at St. Luke's did a great job of putting me at ease and of answering my questions. He didn't hold my hand the entire time but I didn't need that and there were lots of other people there to guide me through. Everyone involved did an excellent job. Hopefully I won't need any other surgeries soon but at least I know who to go to now.

Unprofessional and rude. A doctor I will NOT be recommending and be advising those I know against having this man as a doctor/surgeon. Have doctors lost their humanity? They are supposed to treat their patients with respect, not make them feel stupid for asking questions or for the problems they have. He and his staff also failed to provide me with adequate information about my surgery until he was in the process of surgery. Failed to give me proper local anesthesia and I felt every cut and snip of my skin despite being in convulsions on the operating table. A doctor like this should NOT be allowed to practice medicine.
