Dr. James Michael Schneider, MD

I saw Dr. Schneider in the Catskill office. From the time you walk in to the time you leave you are treated with respect and care. The girl at the desk is friendly and helpful. The nurses and X-ray tech are kind and professional. I can’t say enough about Dr. Schneider. He has treated my knees and shoulders. I wouldn’t want to see any other Orthopedic doctor.

Very willing to answer your questions! Would recommend without hesitation! The office in Albany and Catskill make you feel comfortable and confident that you are dealing with the best!!

I cannot say enough about the professionalism and genuine care I receive with Dr. James Schneider. He is honest and truly concerned about his patients. His staff (Barbara/X-Ray tech and Remy/Medical Assistsnt) are extremely professional and kind. I am grateful to be in his care.

For days before my appointment I had been very stressed out, dealing with my injury and the circumstances that it brought into my life. True hardship and inconvenience. I asked Dr. Schneider if he had a few minutes to talk to me, I was just fed up with the position I'm stuck in. He listened and really had wonderfully insightful and informative answers for me. The info and more then anything else the time he gave me helped put my mind to ease. Thanks Dr. Schneider.

Straight and to the point. Identified problem and offered solution. Has treated every member of my family and received positive outcomes. Does not hesitate to refer to colleagues if it’s not in his specialty areas. No issues here!

Dr Schneider is the best at what he does!! He is very caring and understanding, he had a wonderful bedside manner! I am never rushed in there and takes the time to answer all my questions, I never have a hard time with getting appointments! He had done several surgeries on my knees and always, keeps me going after!

Dr. Schneider completed an ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair on my left knee. This was my first major surgery. Although the practice is extremely busy I never felt rushed or like “just a number”. I’m incredibly busy working in a high intensity full time job, and in my last year of my PhD. Although this injury and subsequent surgery did slow me down, Dr Schneider’s exquisite surgical technique led to a quick recovery. I had minimal pain, no infection and 5 months post op the scaring is starting to fade. I have enjoyed my visits and would highly recommend him.

I wanted to give him a second chance after he was unprofessional when treating my sons shoulder which I am taking him today to another doctor for 3 weeks later. I went for my knee. Had issues in the Past and he didn’t want to hear it. There is some thinning on my lateral side of my knee and maybe there is a something going on his words. I asked some questions and his response. “ we can’t go on maybe, maybe you will get a brain aneurysm and die! “. I said don’t you think that’s a bit harsh. I said that was uncalled for and I don’t wish to be treated by you ever again. I don’t want a shot and I walked out of the room. He is unprofessional and rude. Has no regard for his patients and doesn’t not listen. He should not be treating anyone. He needs lessons on how to be a person then a doctor. Not a jerk

To keep it simple, Dr. Schneider was rude, unprofessional, rushed, distracted, and condescending. He lacked knowledge in his field and had no bedside manner. After reading his reviews, it appears several others have shared this experience. Stay away if you can (unfortunately as an "add on" doctor in an urgent care facility - you may not have a choice).

Dr. Schneider entered my room rushed and distracted. He was condescending and insensitive. His “examination” was about 3 minutes and didn’t care to listen to my complaints / symptoms. When I asked for guidance / recommendations on my situation he had no answers. He sent me for xrays (which I have received several times and they’re always negative, this is a spinal disc issue). I tried to explain and the response as he rushed out the door - “look, this is the way the world works” closing the door before I could respond. The xrays came back negative (as usual). When I stated this and asked him to elaborate on my prior medical records he was holding, he said “this, you and me, we’re done”. He walked out and closed the door in a frustrated manner while I said “excuse me” trying to get his attention before he left. I went out into the hallway and politely asked to at least have a copy of my records that he was holding to which he responded he didn’t feel comfortable giving them to me. My… own medical records.. He told me to go wait in the waiting room and he would send his supervisor. Nobody showed up other than a nurse with a copy of the records he refused to provide. Maybe he’s over worked. Maybe it was a bad day. Regardless, you can get away with that kind of attitude as a waiter or a cashier, not as a doctor. Extremely unprofessional and I pity his other patients.
