My daughter came in with regular sinus congestion and infections. It was agreed that she would Have her add noise removed by Dr. Shroeder. After the surgery the doctor informed me that he noticed inflamed turbinates that could also be part of the problem. Why would he not have addressed the turbinates during the procedure, while she was anesthetized? A year later we returned with little improvement. He asked if my daughter was using Nasonex and Nettie pots daily. We said No, only every once in a while. He told us not to come back to see him until she was doing that for 30 days continuously and still having problems.

Seems one mom ruined his reputation here- hes a great doctor and did a great job with my sons ear tube procedure and follow up. Really easy to work with and we would use him again in a heartbeat!

Dr. Schroeder has been, to state it simply, a blessing to our family! He has cared for our daughter since she was 3 years old... and we are officially wrapped up at the age of 9! He identified the [numerous] issues my daughter was having, closely monitored her condition over the years, and recommended the best treatment. He is highly attentive and listens. As our daughter got older, he addressed questions to her directly, which I appreciated because the parents are not the patients! He interacts easily with children and we always left knowing that our care was always always always his top concern. Our daughter constantly had pink eye... which we found out was due to her ear infections that were never fully being treated. After a switch to a new pediatrician and a referral to Dr. Schroeder, we felt like *finally* our daughter was getting the best possible treatment that she needed. From the moment we met with Dr. Schroeder, there was a HUGE sense of relief in that we… felt he knew exactly what he was doing. He knew exactly what needed to be done. He squeezed us into his heavy surgery schedule to put in tubes and remove adenoids, right around the holidays too... which is always jam-packed. All was going well and things were on track. We saw Dr. Schroeder every 3-4 months so he could check the status of the tubes. After a little more than a year, the tubes had fallen out and the fluid was back... At one of our appointments, I mentioned the snoring that had always kind of been there, but I never thought much of. He recommended a sleep test to check oxygen levels for possible sleep apnea... He, again, worked with the hospital to get her in for the test quickly as we had already scheduled a procedure for another set of tubes to be implanted. We were able to get the sleep test done, which found that she had a high number... he recommended taking out the tonsils at the same time they put the tubes in. While the procedure was being done, he noticed that the adenoids had grown back and asked me for approval to remove again. Again, through close monitoring with appointments and check-ins, Dr. Schroeder knew the progress! At one point, when Lucy had a severe ear infection over a weekend, we went directly to Lurie's Streeterville to be treated in their ED. We were treated and sent home. Come Monday morning, Dr. Schroeder had received her report... he called me personally to see how Lucy was doing. Not a nurse, not a resident... He did! I was truly touched!! Which that ED visit ultimately led to another set of tubes being put it... And more follow-ups... But as Lucy got older, her ears corrected naturally what needed to be done. At one point we had discussed putting in a more permanent set of tubes, but I was hesitant only because I knew that she could grow out of it. So we waited and monitored. We created a plan together to ensure that she had the best possible care. And as he scooped out the last tube yesterday afternoon, it was sad when he said that we no longer need follow-ups. After nearly 6 years of being his patient, my husband and I have nothing but respect and gratitude for him, his medical ability, his support, and his advice. He truly changed the trajectory of Lucy's ability to hear, especially in those early years when language development is so very important. Thank you Dr. Schroeder for all that you have done and for changing our lives!! (And the nurses at the Westchester Outpatient Center are ROCK STAR! We'll miss those fabulous ladies too!)

We have seen Dr. Schroeder for issues with both our sons, and I would not go anywhere else! Dr. Schroeder’s bedside manner is excellent; he takes the time to walk through options and explain what he is doing. We love Dr. Schroeder because he is not pushy about procedures or unnecessary interventions. Instead he is thoughtful and really works with the the parent to understand if surgery or other intervention is needed. This is especially important with small children who can be easily traumatized. However, when our son did need a procedure performed, Dr. Schroeder was an expert surgeon who we trusted implicitly with our son’s care. Our son is healthy and healed due to Dr. Schroeder’s expertise. I would not trust anyone else with my children’s ENT care.

Dr Schroeder is so kind and patient! Great bedside manner and explained results and recommendations in a way that was easy for my husband and I to understand.

My children have seen dr. Schroeder for many years- he is not only incredibly professional, but his bedside manner is amazing. He takes as much time as needed and works with you to develop a plan of action. Our family can’t say enough good things about him!

Poor quality of a dr on every level! he will waste your time if you go to him

I would not take a child to this physician. He is unkind and arrogant and reduced my child to tears. He seems to be aware of his rude behavior, so his manner alternates between visits; artificially and condescendingly nice, or rude and petulant.
