Dr. Janet Risa Abrams, PhD

Tried to share & hopefully get reassurance on a fear I had. She proceeded to share HER fear on something else & tried to tell me she couldn't understand why I wasn't afraid of something SHE was afraid of over what I was afraid of. Didn't think it was necessary for her to make it personal by sharing HER fear & comparing it to mine & not understanding. I also told her a spiritual/miraculous experience I had about my fear which she dismissed saying not reliable and "wouldn't count on it". Even though when I told MANY other professionals about my spiritual experience they said it "gave them chills" and said it was not just a coincidence. I don't believe it is in her place to dismiss a person's personal beliefs. Again, another example of how she is using personal opinion rather than professional opinion. Psychologist Ellen Kreidman wrote a book about how we all want to feel understood and ONCE we feel understood THAT'S when we try to make the best decisions possible for our life.
