Dr. Mary Margaret Braud, MD

My 17 year old daughter has a severe mental illness, and she is also on the spectrum. Dr. Braud has followed her since she was 7, and has always been able to understand how her disorders are affecting her and what medication, supplements, or diet changes we should make. When my daughter was younger, she was in the hospital and even residential treatments centers. Today, she is a stable funcitoning teenager thanks to Dr. Braud.

Dr Braud is the best doctor you can find, trust me, I have been to a lot. In my 17 year battle with mental illness, I have seen over 20 psychiatrists. I have had a very difficult time finding a doctor that understands that medicine is only a part of the healing and many other things need to be considered. If you are someone who is looking for a truly caring doctor that is there to help people, look no further. Dr. Braud is an expert in nutrition and other more natural supplements and can help even the most difficult cases. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I found Mary Braud very helpful, informed and willing to explore what might work from a science based approach. Figuring out what someone needs takes time and some rule out's as well as diagnostic testing. If you are willing to take responsibility and communicate what you have done and work with her I think you can achieve very helpful results. My experience is most things are not one thing and don't get solved overnight, so if that is your expectation, good luck. Otherwise Mary is a great ally in working to solve what ails ya.

Dr. Broad is a kind, compassionate and professional psychiatrist. I found her treatment plan for me to be very effective. She is a great listener and embodies a mind, body and spirit connection with her patients. This is paramount in treating those of us with anxiety and depression. I would recommend Dr. Broad to any of my friends or relative and new patients alike.

For those who want to treat mental health issues holistically, this is your doc! She helped me taper off 5 of 6 psychiatric meds and replace those with supplements and vitamins that work just as effectively. An excellent resource and alternative to traditional medical model psychiatry!

Dr Braud is excellent and has a lot of great information to share that is the most cutting edge in the world of pshyciatry. I highly recommend her.

I've found Dr. Braud's holistic approach very helpful-she's given me options, as to different things to try, and has always provided a cheat sheet of supplements-which have been helpful. The only complaint I have is her lack of follow-up. She doesn't provide any upcoming appt cards so to remind patients when to see her next. While I appreciate that usually adults will take matters into their hands and make appts, adults are busy, and in the mental health profession, it's important for patients to feel as if they are important. I imagine there are suicidal patients, and cases where more attention is needed. Follow-up, and checking in, would prompt me to see her more often. I'm lucky, I'm high functioning, and am able to take care of myself with little medication. But with adolescents, and families, follow-up is vital. I hope she will work on this area and think of creative ways to touch in with her most vulnerable clients. She's slightly dry, and cold, as well, but it's evident she is… trying to help when I'm in an appointment with her.

I was so excited to seek a holistic approach to our child's struggles. She made such great promises but NEVER followed though. She got test results back we paid hundreds of dollars to have run and her response to reviewing them was "well, I am new at this" WHAT? She promised to call the lab and seek more info and get back to us after the DAN! conference but never did. we spend over a thousand dollars with her and only got one real recommendation ...increase the Col Liver Oil. Because of her my husband turned away from alternative therapies and was much less supportive. we now have our son on ADD meds and need to take him to a psychiatrist. wish i had a option of one with a focus on alternative treatments.
