Dr. Jared Adam Maloff, MD

I have recently finished a course of individual therapy and was pleased with the observations and professional intuitive recommendations made by Dr. Maloff. I found his assessment skills to be on point, due to experience in his field.

I found Dr. Maloff to be highly professional and calming. He is very attentive and helped me tremendously.

Therapy with Jared was harmful, unethical and unprofessional. I am now in therapy with someone else, and 100% of the sessions so far (over 15) have been focused on undoing the harm from 9 months of therapy with Jared. All throughout therapy, he pretended to be caring and would repeatedly tell me to trust him and that he’s always been honest, but he’s lied about so many things, it’s sickening. My advice to all clients is to request your therapy notes. Then you will know what your therapist is really thinking about what you have told them, what they think of you and also about lies they’ve told. I’m not going to go into a long list of everything unethical, but here are a few. Before I even stepped foot into his office, since he was on an insurance provider list as specializing in PTSD treatment, I asked him to confirm, and he said he frequently treats PTSD patients. However, it’s not true. He frequently does assessment testing. After close to 9 months of harmful therapy, he ended up… trying to terminate (referring me out) by text/email while I was in the middle of a crisis. After therapy ended, I tried to get closure since we never had a termination session, and he didn’t want to waste time discussing since I was no longer a patient. So I requested his notes, and discovered how he lied to me numerous times, and also it’s obvious that he fudged the notes a bit to protect himself as a therapist.
