When I started going to Dr. Reed he was affiliated with JIS Group. He does x-rays as a normal part of an office call and reads them himself. The x-ray was billed as part of the office visit. The last time I visited he had changed affiliation to Marietta Memorial Hospital located about 40 miles from his office. He did the x-rays again with the same staff and equipment, but they were billed separately by Marietta Memorial as an hospital out patient, thus creating an additional much more expensive co-pay. When MMH was contacted by my insurance they said that with the new affiliation the x-ray machine was theirs and would be sent to the hospital to be read, so was billed as a hospital out patient ( The most expensive method) even though they were read by Dr. Reed at his office. This is the last time I will visit Dr. Reed . I will start going to the JIS center in New Albany, Oh. I would suggest anyone considering visiting Dr. Reed while he is affiliated with MMH to do the same!

Gilmore May 11, 2019 Letter regarding patient doctor relationship I received the letter yesterday of you firing me as you patient and was just another added disappointment and stresser from you , as the doctor, and your office. First of all I highly regarded you as a great doctor and even told you so at my last visit which is the greatest compliment you can get cause I am a nurse. I saw you last year for yearly check up for my hip replacement cause my sugeron moved out of state. I had seen you before that for rt knee pain and got an injection. You seemed attentive and caring. Then I saw you as consult for workman comp injury and trusted you and asked you to be my workman comp primary doctor which you accepted. And infront of a witness said if there is anything I can do let me know. You knew right after this appointment with you that I was going to a hearing about my workman comp to the appeal from the employer and I explained briefly what was happening and… asked for the oarrs report which Hannah sent to me in email. When I got my appeal answer back the official gave me another appeal date and I was advised to get more detailed medical information from my doctor being you. When I called you office firstly I had a cortizone storm and was very sick from reactions from the injection and you can't talk to a nurse you get answering service and they say leave a message and will call you back from Athen's office in 48 hrs. Not all of us have insurance that covers an ER visit. Next, I again asked to speak to a nurse and got the voice mail to Athen's and left a message about needing a more detail letter about your assessment for the next appeal hearing. I called and called finally got ahold of workman comp person from your office that said she talked to my attorney and she said that attorney said not to do the letter not needed. First of all that wasn't my attorney and that paralegal had no right to squash my letter to help my case. And then I called attorney's office and spoke to attorney and said DR. Reed office never called and talked to an attorney about the letter so deceit there. I make the decisions about my workman comp case I hired you and the attorney for advice to help me. And no one talked to me about the letter just squashed it. The supervisor was on vac and did talk to me when I called later and explained in detail about the events and was a great listening. And Hannah was great she tried to help with my workman comp forwarding my email letter to the supervisor. I again asked to speak to you about the letter vital information piece for my next hearing and the workman comp person at your office said Dr. Reed doesn't return phone calls ever to patients. And then the workman comp person refused to give me another doctor's visit cause she said I hadn't paid the one and only visit for workman comp which I never recieved a bill for. Then that same person got on me about paying for the knee injection and I said I had no clue that my present ambetter wouldn't pay for that visit due to out of network which I didn't know that and never recieved a bill for that either. And the most heart breaking news you Dr. Reed send me a firing me as your patient without talking to me saying patient and doctor relationship was important so you got rid of me in my biggest need for you during my workman comp case and I lost all trust in you cause you weren't there for me as you told me you were. Being a nurse myself nothing is more disappointing to have your doctor say they will be there for you and help you then decieve you and not be there. So Dr. Reed I had already decided to start looking for another knee doctor to do my surgery cause I first don't trust you to be there for my needs post op and I know it is too hard to get ahold of you or your office if I ran into problems post op. I made this decison before I got your letter and you couldn't respect me enough to give me a phone call to help me with the workman comp issue. Much easier to fire me as your patient, right? And you were right about just one thing in your firing letter that patient / doctor relationship was imp and you failed me as being an honest doctor you decieved me. Your never walked in my shoes but you know I am on fixed income of social security and getting my workman comp bills paid very important but you didn't comprehend that and so deserting me in the high point of my workman comp case was so wrong and uncaring of you in many ways. I have been seeing Dr. Reed for several years about various orthopedic issues I have. He is one of the nicest physicians I have ever had through my medical issues (and they're) a lot. He always has a smile on his face, he really listens and is genuinely concerned about your health.

Dr Jason Reed did a total knee revision n it felt 100 times better than when it was previously done by zomeone else just 7 months prior. I knew it was better the first time I walked on it. It's now been 6 months since surgery n I'm able to function just great!! Thank you Dr Reed for "saving" my leg!!

The staff does not return phone calls. They Lie, yes lie, and do not follow the doctors orders. When confronted, they refuse to allow you to speak to the Doctor. Their ball dropping and negligence has me now facing permanent damage, and corrective surgery. Dr. Reed himself was wonderful, however has allowed an inept and uncaring staff to destroy his reputation.

I needed a second total knee replacement and was devastated when my first doctor went out of my insurance network. Little did I know this was to be a blessing in disguise. Fortunately I found Dr Reed with Joint Replacement Surgeons and the difference was a night and experience, I suffered none of the problems I had with my first knee replacement and the Doctors Hospital in New Albany was excellent. Thank you once again Dr. Reed for being so kind, compassionate, and most important, an extremely gifted surgeon!

I am doing research on what surgeon would be best to perform a total knee replacement for me. After reading so many negative comments and low ratings, I would never pick Dr. Reed. And I can't understand how his overall rating is so high with a "4". Makes me distrust the overall ratings of other physician's located in the Castrop Center.

Dr. Reed and his Staff are the best. I had a torn tendon in my ankle, Dr. Reed and his Staff worked together with me to get my ankle fixed. If you need a torn tendon to a joint replaced, this is the Doctor to go to. Dr. Reed has the best bedside manor that I have seen in years. Thank you Dr. Reed and all your Staff
