After having an epiretinal surgery on my right eye with Dr. Hubschman, my vision has improved from 20/60 to 20/25 in only 7 weeks. The surgery was painless and the care from him and other attending staff was top notch. I could not recommend too highly the skill that Dr. Hubschman and his staff have provided. Hooray for all the Medical providers who have continued their service through COVID!

The only place to go for eye issues and eye surgery is UCLA’s Stein Eye Institute and Dr. Jean-Pierre Hubschman is the best retina specialist they have. He recently performed retina surgery on me with amazing results. He is a gifted surgeon at the top of his field with a skill level unmatched. Plus, his staff and the surgery center are absolutely the best. All around, it was a very positive experience and outcome.

Dr Hubschman is a fabulous physician and surgeon! I highly recommend him . I would like to think of him as the Monet of eye surgeons. With skill and grace he saved my eye from having a most horrific problem of blindness. I loved the care I received at Stein eye. My 92 year-old mother has been Dr. Hubschman's patient for at least 10 years. Through his great care, we believe he's saved her eyesight. He diagnosed her macular degeneration and since that time has strategically cared for her. Recently he repaired her torn retina with his magical hands and fingers! Dr. Hubschman performed a difficult, same day, emergency surgery to re-attach my retina. he was thorough in his explanation of the procedure. He was empathetic and compassionate. The results of Dr Hubschman’s surgery on my retina have been spectacularly successful. He is a true expert in his field and has an obvious passion for it. I had detached retina surgery (not at UCLA) and after going through the face down recovery and everything was looking great (20/30), it happened again but worse. After waiting 4 days and then told they still could not fit me in, I called Stien Eye Institute and explained my situation. I emailed my ER papers and within minutes was told to see Dr. Hubschman at 3:30 that day and I would be added to the following day surgery schedule. I am so thankful for Dr. Hubschman, his fellows and his staff. Within 24 hours I was in and out of surgery. After following his recovery instructions to a “T”, my left eye has 20/50 vision (that is still improving). For a second and complete detachment this is amazing. When I first met Dr. Hubschman he told me this is a team effort, 50% was on him and 50% was on me. I did my part and he did AWESOME on his part. When it comes to your vision you need a surgeon you can trust. You need Dr. Hubschman. I can’t say thank you enough to him and his fellows.

Dr. Hubschman restored sight to my husband’s detached retina eye. He operated on my husband’s eye within 2 days of his awful retina emergency. Dr. Hubschman preformed another retina surgery on my husband’s other eye. Again, with remarkable success. I would say the level of success is a miracle if I wasn’t aware of Dr. Hubschman’s highly respected competency and accuracy as a surgeon. Don’t expect to be showered with pleasantries and schmoozed during your visit. He is laser focused on your condition and how he can help you. Any other way is not his style and it shouldn’t be if his goal is to maintain his focus and level accuracy for his patients. Eventually; you will recognize how decent he is in his commitment to saving or preserving his patient’s quality of life. Dr. Hubschman is responsible, ethical, and morally right. Dr. Hubschman’s support staff is remarkable as well. They, also, are accurate and care about your quality of life. After hours calls after my husband’s emergency… surgery were received and tended to immediately and with care. Next time you complain about wait times please be reminded that, at times, Dr Hubschman is tending to emergencies. Hopefully it will not happen to you. But if it does: please know that Dr. Hubschman is the absolute best choice. He will do his best for you... and his best is nothing short of accurate and remarkable.

Dr Hubschman did a same day emergency surgery to repair my detached retina In 2016. I have been returning every year since for checkups. Dr HubSchman is thorough and consistently takes the time to answer questions and explain his observations. My eye continues to do well and I highly recommend Dr Hubschman.
