Dr. Jeffrey Arnold Derus, MD

Absolutely outstanding Dr! I was hesitant reading some other reviews but it was an emergency appointment and he could see us the same day. I'm so grateful! He was so pleasant, he answered all of our questions, never made us feel rushed and best of all.. put our minds at ease. We were so anxious by the time we got there and by the time we left, it was like a huge weight had been taken off. I can not recommend him enough!

I was referred to Dr. Derus by a urologist colleague of his urologist as a possible candidate for a urologic procedure related to prostate. Dr. Derus apparently specializes in the procedure. From the get-go in his office, I found him impersonal and dismissive --- telling me outright that I was not a candidate. No exam. No review, in my company, of the referring uro's referral to him for this particular procedure. Certainly no alternative suggestion for my problem offered. (I am in a Medicare Advantage plan and strongly suspect that this was a primary motivator for his ending the conversation seconds after it began.) For his attitude alone, Derus gets a BIG failing grade. Good that we can share here 'cause folks need to know.

worse dr ever I would not advise anyone to choice him for a dr he is rude and very un helpfull still 4 years later he still haven't took care of my problems and the problems I have are from dr derus! please if you love you love life stay AWAY!!

I visited about a half dozen urologists, and Dr. Derus was the worst. His bedside manner struck me as odd and creepy. In fact, the administrator at the surgery center sent me an apology letter and admitted Dr. Derus did not live up to the center's expectations. I had a high number of complications following a simple procedure, and comments about his work from his colleagues made me lose confidence in Dr. Derusâ?? skill as a surgeon. In my experience, I found Dr. Derus disrespectful and inept. I'd recommend Dr. Derus only to an enemy.

I had complete confidence in Dr. Derus. He's a good listener and explains things well, and he seems to genuinely care about his patients. I believe his education and experience put him at the top of his profession. Highly recommended.
