Dr Richmond gave me a total hip replacement and I could not have asked for a better outcome. He’s an excellent surgeon and very caring

I was pregnant with a broken elbow. Bad situation. I was referred by my ortho to this doctor because of his subspecialty. He spent an hour with me and my husband talking about what I needed and he got the right anesthesia doctor and a hospital OB nurse to monitor the baby during the surgery. Everything went well and I healed with great motion. He even came to the OB ward to visit me 4 months later to see my baby!

He spent a lot of time with me in his office explaining my choices after a bad elbow fracture. I felt very comfortable that he cared and knew what the right treatment should be. The surgery worked very well and the therapy has been hard but my result is excellent. I highly suggest Dr Richmond

I started seeing this doctor over a year ago for hip arthritis. He spent a lot of time with me and explained the condition and my choices, which really amounted to do nothing or have hip replacements. He told me at first that he did not think I was ready, and I was not. Later I came back and said I could not stand the pain and he said "now you are ready." We talked a lot about surgical approach and the benefits of all ways of doing it. I have now had both hips done with great results. I like him- he spent the time answering questions without pressuring me, without a hand on the door to get out of the room, and calls back promptly. I highly recommend him and his practice.

I was hurt in a major car accident and met Dr Richmond at the hospital just outside the operating room. I have never had an emergency before and I was bad. This doctor was calm- at first I did not understand why he wasn't excited and rushing around. And I found out that was because he is THE MAN when it comes to this and knows exactly what to do and how to do it. He told me what he was going to do and sounded like he knew exactly what I needed. I had a lot of surgerys and I am doing great. I found out later that he is the best ortho and surgeon around and everyone at the hospital told me I was lucky to have him on call. He calls me back, and calls me to say hi and see how i'm doing. HE IS THE BEST.

I recently became a patient of Dr. Richmond. He diagnosed my hip pain with great precision, but more important, his "bedside manner" gave me great comfort. I recommend him very highly.

It was obvious right away that the hospital staff held him in high regard and everybody smiled and said I was in great hands when they asked who my surgeon was. The doctor is quiet, no nonsense and explained everything and all of the choices I had. The surgery went well and I am recovering. He clearly cares and takes pride in my outcome and his concern is evident. The hospital (Northwell) was good, and he seems to get what he needs done there easily.

I was transferred to North Shore after a bad car accident with multiple broken bones. Dr. Richmond was the referral I had gotten, and he was excellent. Very serious demeanor at first, and then after the surgeries was very friendly and funny, reassuring me all the way. I healed well and I am walking and using my arms again. He is very compassionate and clearly had the respect of the hospital staff. I have no reservations in saying I was fortunate to have him take care of me.

I had emergency surgery and was very relieved afterwards when everyone told me that he was the best. My recovery has been good so far, he came to see me every day in the hospital and even called me at the rehab center to make sure things were being done per his instructions. Very happy with my care.

He operated on my broken femur. Nice guy, quiet sense of humor and saw me every day in the hospital. I healed well and the recovery was exactly as he said it would be. He answers his own phone calls instead of having a nurse do it. Very satisfied.
