Dr. Jennings Tyson Godsy, MD

I have been going to Dr. Godsy for almost 15 years. I moved to a new location and attempted to start seeing a new physician and it was a disaster. I now see him via telemedicine or fly back in to Houston to see him. That says a lot when a person flies back in to a city just to see him. Sometimes he does run late, but he also takes the time you need. One time I was doing really poorly and even though I only had a 20 minute appointment he met with me for two hours and got me the help I needed. He saved my life that time.

I HAVE HAD GREAT EXPERIENCES WITH BOTH DR GODSY AND EMMANUEL. DR GODSY SOMETIMES RUNS BEHIND BUT IT IS BECAUSE HE RSALLY TAKES HIS TIME WITH PATIENTS.

I was notified one days notice, I needed an appointment to come in for my 3 month schedule meeting for my adderall medication prescription renewal. I have been performing this consultation via phone every 3 months for the last 2 years due to the covid pandemic. I just had a consultation last month. I was notified I would have to come in the office and the earliest appointment is in 2 months. I am out of my one month prescription due to it’s over a month. I requested to speak with Dr. Godsey or Emanuel, which is Godsey’s assistant. The receptionist told me they were not in the office. I notified her I will file a complaint with the Texas medical board. She said,she would call in the prescription to my pharmacy today. The receptionist lied to me. I have been prescribed adderall from Dr. Godsey for over 10 years and to discontinue abruptly is unhealthy to the patient and unprofessional from a licensed Doctor of medicine!

I just saw Dr. Godsy for the first time and I couldn't be more impressed. His waiting room and office were nice, his staff cordial and he had a great manner about him and seemed knowledgeable. Now we will see if the meds help.

I have been with this doctor for several years even when he was at a different office and followed him to a new location even though it was out of my way because I liked him so much. I have always had the best experience until about 9 months ago when suddenly I couldn't get through on the phone. I told him about it at the next appointment and learned they had some hiccups with a new phone system and hiring new help after a receptionist moved and with hiring help. Problem was fixed quickly and have not had it again. I appreciated him being proactive because I have been having a similar problem with my peds office for over a year (can't get through) and have complained and nothing changes.

He is hard to get into and his office is super busy, but he was worth the wait. Been going six months now and highly impressed.

Dr. Godsy is wonderful. Felt comfortable and relaxed. His office and staff are very nice. Wish I hadn't waited so long to make appointment.

I've been going to Dr Godsy several years. The Doctor and Nurse Practitioner (Emmanuel) are GREAT. The front office people are not good. A few years back the front office was amazing, but not anymore.. just something I deal with because it is hard to find a Psychiatrist in a good location, that is not downtown.. If you leave a message, they will call you back same day usually. I try to make my appt first thing in the morning so that I don't have to wait as long.. BUT you will wait.. I've never not waited. Once you see the Doctor, all is pretty good. But you will wait lol...
