Dr. Jerry V Marlin

I went to Dr Marlin for help because I had cervical spine surgery 1 1/2 years ago and was in a lot of pain and problems resulting from this surgery. I took my son and best friend for support and help to tell things that I may forget to say. Dr Marlin walked in and was irritated at the start. He ask me what was going on and my history. I proceeded to tell him but he interrupted me many times asking questions, which I answered every thing he asked. Suddenly Dr Marlin jump out of his chair and yell, this is malpractice and I don't want to be a part of this case. Then he proceeded to basically call me a liar and that none of what I was saying was possible and did not make sense. I told Dr that I was not lying and everything I said was true and accurate! Then we left. I have never been talked to like that or treated like that from any Dr. Dr Marlin humiliated me, embarrassed me, angered me and severerly hurt me. I am 62 years old and went to Dr Marlin for treatment because of my pain and… other issues that have resulted fro this surgery. I was in a lot of pain the day I saw Dr Marlin. I need a spinal doctors help! I feel Dr Marlin kicked me down when I needed medical help. He has caused me great mental anguish and scares me to go to any Dr for help. I read some reviews on Dr Marlin and was really shock to see what other patients have experienced. Many of them were treated similar, being called a liar, having a unprofessional demeanor toward his patients, short tempered! All of this just reinforced what I had experienced. I would not let Dr Marlin operate on any family or anyone else I know. I wonder what would happen if Dr Marlin got angry during surgery. He has people lives in his hands and after experiencing what I did, I would be scared and would not let him operate, or treat me and others! dr Marlin should have kept his cool and just tell me he didn't want my case, but certainly not how he didto me. No professionalism, compassion, care or concern for people in pain needing help. I feel he kicked me when I was down, like he did many other patients.. Now ,from the mental anguish, embarrassment and fear I feel after this experienced I don't want to go to a Dr. Dr Marlin has a very bad bedside manner. I would not recommend him to anyone!

Although Dr. Jerry Marlin may be a wonderful neurosurgeon, my experiences with have been horrible. He picked me leg up by the ankle & tapped me. When my leg didn't move, he was very unhappy with me. He effectively called me a liar, which I did not appreciate because I had a broken. The next he ordered to stand up & try to walk. When I asked to turn off the bed alarm, he refused. I got up & the bed alarm went off. I asked him turn alarm off & he refused. (He didn't care bed alarms are torture.) When I called out for somebody to turn the alarm off, he was furious & humiated me in front of everybody on the floor. He doesn't care that bed alarms hurt my ears enough to drive me crazy. He also doesn't care that I seriously bipolar & I am affraid that torture & public humiliation could push me into a complete nervous breakedown. Basicly, he doesn't care about the physical & emotional wellfare of his patients (victims). He only cares about how people worship him as a medical… deity.

Had cervical spine surgery for degenerative discs several years ago. My neck is pain free and symptoms of extremity transient numbness were abated. As I age, any and all applical neuro-osteo problems requiring care will be requested of Dr.Marlin.

My mother was just seen by Dr Marlin this morning Referred to him by Dr Sherwood. My sis was with my Mom and said that he was the rudest, most uncaring excuse for a doc that she has ever seen ( and she is an RN!) I am sure he is good at his craft but how he was rated as compassionate is so not true in this case. My mom is 89 years old and having trouble/ significant pain in her back. So, so disappointed!!!!!!! His staff was great but he was a total jerk and my family won't tolerate that treatment if our mom!!!! If u read this, find someone else!

We had a rough experience. We came in with a daughter diagnosed with a brain malformation. He gave us good information on how to cope with day to day life, but was very quick to read and interpret every move we were making. He decided she was depressed and mishandling herself, overreacting to her symptoms. He criticized the other doctors we had seen and with whom we had been working, which was a little disconcerting. After that, we went to two other brain surgeons over the next two years , one at John Hopkins, and turns out our daughter has another malformation altogether that Dr. Marlin never considered at all. He may be a great surgeon, technically, we never had any experience with that, but we would not recommend him for sensitive diagnosis of an unusual brain malformation, especially if you are coming in with someone like we were, young and already in a great deal of pain. It was difficult.

Immediately after surgery my pain was gone. For someone 70 years old my recovery was better than expected. I highly recommend him as a really hands on doctor. His concern for infection was superior. Even the nurses had great things to say about his skills.Thank you Dr. MarlinI have recommended him several times.

Best doc I have been to in 20 years.

deficient in explaining situation--only told me i was having emergency surgery till afterward. initially only told me the surgery would only last 2 hours and i would stay in hosp 2 days. deficient in explaining impact on my life after surgery. does not know icu nurses even though they've worked together for 8 years.did an excellent surgery which only makes him a talented technician to me.

Overall Dr. Marlin is a very hands on doctor. He will follow with you and he will call you himself with a concern or to address your concerns. He can come accross a little rough but I would rather have a physician like him who is detailed and gives you the attention needed to heal you. I would recommend this man to anyone.

Dr. Marlin did my surgery. I would highly recommend him to family and friends.
