Dr. Jessica Anne Sperber, MD

I enjoy working with people with general psychiatric conditions including mood and anxiety disorders as well as those with difficulties with relationships, coping skills, sense of self, and other internal conflicts. I have a special interest in working with people with chronic pain, chronic medical conditions, and addiction. As a psychiatrist, I am able to provide both psychotherapy and medication management at the same time. It allows me to think about what is going on psychologically as well as biologically and better informs my understanding of the person.

As an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, I pursued my interest in pain and studied neurobiology and bioengineering. In medical school, I completed one year of clinical research at the UCSD Center for Pain Medicine. During residency, I was Chief Resident of the La Jolla VA Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program where I received specialized training in addiction and detoxification, including Suboxone treatment.
