Dr. Jill Ann Vidas, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Visas since 2006, roughly 12 years old. Now 13 years later, 25 years old, she is still my top choice. I now live in Colorado Springs and drive up to Boulder for my appointments, because I cannot find anyone with the same quality of care Jill Vidas provides

My two children (now teens) have been seeing Dr. Vidas for about 4 years, and I find her to be an excellent psychiatrist. She knows her medicine and is careful. She also cares a lot about her patients, unlike another doctor who we saw prior to that. Highly recommended.

Be prepared to wait 3-4 months for a new patient-appointment, but it is worth it. Dr. Vidas is excellent. She is professional, on point with her diagnosis and treatment, kind to children and caregivers, and she cares about her patients.

Yes, Jill Vidas is a very pleasant person and my son really responds to her. However, her availability is completely limited as she only works two days a week. If you're going to prescribe any medication for my kid you really need to be available for follow up phone calls to discuss side effects, dosage change, etc. There is no excuse for a psychiatrist who prescribes high strength medication to CHILDREN to be so unaccountable. Another example of limited availability: I need a prescription refill for my kid. For the past FOUR days both the pharmacy and I have tried to reach someone in her office. Nothing but an answering machine. We're about to run out of meds in the next day. Do I need to physically go to her office to get the refill request?!! The doctor's pleasantness do not make up for her limited availability and followup. There is a level of professionalism Dr. Vidas has yet to attain.

My 10 year old Son and I love Dr. Vidas! She has treated him for the past 3 years, and she cares so much about him and his health. She was willing to consult with his pediatrician and his psychiatrist. Her advice has helped me immensely to advocate with his school and make it easier for him to excel at school.

This doctor was unable to communicate a conversation she had with the learning specialist at my child's school with us. Not telling me important observations made by the specialist about our child's behavior did not allow us to make important decisions concerning the appropriateness of medication our child was taking. Additionally she would not speak with us when we arrived to talk to her about the problem without charging us an additional fee because she said a consultation with parents would not be covered by insurance. We had done this with other doctors and it was never a problem. She is in charge of administering dangerous drugs and she does not I feel she does this without taking all information into consideration. I would not recommend this doctor.

She might be the greatest doctor in town,I have no idea. If I feel thatmy childmay need psychiatric help please don't tell me you are taking new patients and then schedule me for 4 months out - that is NOT taking new patients.Also, please don't make the very first question you ever ask me be "what is your insurance?"

Dr. Vidas is so amazing. She is truely caring and wants to help in any way possible. She listens to everything I have to say. Then she will assist in anyway she can. I think that is why I wait in the waiting room so long. Its because she cares about her patients.
