Dr. Jing Dong, MD

The worst office staff I have ever dealt with. Rude. Dismissive. My appointment was for 2 pm. I had the paper with me that they wrote it on. 3:30 pm I’m still sitting there and staff tells me “maybe he’ll be here in 1/2 hour” and there were four patients ahead of me. I left and will never go back. My time is just as valuable

He never asked my concerns, my reason for being there, and had not read my chart. When I began to tell him that I have ocular rosacea, he interrupted me and practically shouted, "You have rosacea all over your face, not just your eyes!" Had he kept his mouth shut and listened to his patient (me), he would have discovered that I KNOW THAT. However, It has only recently started affecting my eyes. He continued to interrupt me the entire time, so I gave up. His bedside manner is horrible, and I left with NO treatment plan other than to come back in a year. I will never go back as there are much better ophthalmologists out there. Once home, I read all the bad reviews on health grades regarding his lack of skill in performing eye surgery. I wonder how many of his patients had symptoms they wanted to discuss with him but were too afraid to speak up due to his dismissive, antagonistic personality. Dr. Dong, it would serve you well to listen to your patients and take a class in bedside manners.

I do not recommend Dr. Dong.

This Dr. is a robot. His surgery house is nothing but an assembly line. Unfortunately I did not find that out until he had completed cataract surgery on me and left me with eyesight that is worse now than before surgery. Your eyes are a terrible thing to gamble with!

My son woke up with one of his eyes almost swollen shut and the entire side of his face swollen, too. He went to an urgent care place in Athens where that dr spent no more than 2 minutes with him. He did not examine the eye, nor even look at it - he just walked in and declared it an "allergy to something" and wrote him an Rx without telling my son how to use it and what it would do. Neither of us were impressed with the urgent care dr and felt like that diagnosis was wrong, so at 10 minutes to 5, I called Georgia Center for Sight for an appt. I was so thankful that they had an appt available for the next morning with an ophthalmologist, no less! Dr. Dong was very thorough, professional and explained everything he found - pink eye - and what his Rx would do. We are very pleased with the service of Dr. Dong & Georgia Center for Sight.

if he does any type of surgery on your eye be aware, I think he is trying to rip people off doing unneeded lazer surgery, he did mine and now I see lines in my eye and they say this is normal, wasn't there before he did the surgery!

Professional staff, very organized, wish they did eye glass refills in their office.

Dr. Dong is probably the best ophthalmologist in Athens especially when dealing with eye infections. I had a viral infection and 3 other doctors misdiagnosed it, but Dr. Dong knew exactly what it was and treated it. I was dang near going blind in my right eye!

Dr. Dong without a doubt is one of the best doctors in the area. However this is easily overshadowed by the ineptness of the person who runs the business office. I suggest that if having correct insurance information is a must for you to steer clear until Nancy is gone.
