Dr. Jo-Ann Elizabeth Haney-Tilton, MD

I saw Dr. Tilton in the Mass Eye and Ear ER. The resident I saw prior to Dr. Tilton was far more professional. Dr. Tilton was not friendly at best and rude would be a more accurate description. She made me feel uncomfortable and I left wondering why someone who seemed to resent her career path would be in a patient facing role. When I asked her a question, she curtly dismissed me. Please see another ophthalmologist if possible.

I've been seeing Dr Tilton for a few years for dry eye and have been very happy with her treatment and information provided. Great Doc!

I recently went to see Dr. Haney-Tilton for a follow up for a eye trauma. She has absolutely no bed side manner. She did not introduce herself or take the time to listen to my concerns. I left the appointment with no answers to my questions and no not feel reassured that everything is fine. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I received a thorough eye exam. Dr Haney-Tilton is very knowlegeable in her field. She took time to explain everything. I have recommended her to family and friends.

I saw this doctor in the Mass Eye & Ear ER and she couldn't be more unlike all the other doctors at Mass Eye and Ear. I have recently had several serious eye issues and have spent a lot of time at mass Eye and Ear and have seen many different doctors - all of which (with the exception of Dr. Haney-Tilton) were incredibly competent, caring and so kind. Dr, Haney-Tilton couldn't be farther from her colleagues - I hope Mass Eye and Ear reads this review because in my opinion she is a liability to an institution that has such a great reputation. First, she didn't introduce herself - I had no idea who she was, I didn't even know she was a doctor - let alone a Cornea Specialist. (I met her in the ER - so it's not like I booked an appt with her. Second, she was typing up some notes before examining my eye and NEVER washed her hands before sticking her finger practically in my eyes. It was horrifying and it all happened so fast so I didn't get a chance to say anything before it was… too late. She also didn't clean the equipment - but maybe that was cleaned before I got there - I am not sure ??? She also was very rough in her examination - I felt like she was annoyed when I told her she was hurting me. I have been through a lot - so trust me, I am not a wimp about this type of stuff. I can't remember the last time I took the time to fill out a review like this - but I felt compelled to help anyone else avoid what I went through. There are just too many there great doctors out there, so do your self a favor, avoid this one!!

My doctor wanted me to see dr haney tilton for another opinion about a problem i have. She introduced herself and i tried to tell her about my history and all she would say is no this problem. I have seen ophthalmologists since i was 4 years old. I am 50 now. She saw no obvious signs of part of my problem and told me to see my own doctor in another two weeks. Said i had dry eyes andtold me to do what my own doctor already has me doing. What a waste of everyones time. May know her stuff but no bedside manner.

Execllent ophthalmologist. She has been treating my wife and myself for about 4 to 5 years; including two surgeries. We have been happy with all our interactions with her. In the waiting time section of the ratings, I selected 5 minutes because they don't offer an option of zero.
