Dr. John Thomas Biddulph, MD

Dr Biddulph has been the best surgeon ever! He has worked on me for many different issues and has always been nothing but caring, concerned, and took the time to answer all my questions. The staff is also very genuine and patient, I will be going back here real soon to have my other knee meniscus surgery.

Dr. Biddulph is a first-rate doctor and surgeon. Over the years, I have been treated by a number of orthopedic doctors, and this one stands out as the very best. He is patient and generous with his time. He will never rush you through an appointment and will always answer all of your questions thoroughly. Whenever I needed an injection in my shoulder, he did everything possible to minimize my pain and discomfort. It doesn't matter what type of injury or ailment you have, Dr. Biddulph will always give you his full time and attention; he will treat you in a very gentle and caring manner; you will fully understand whatever procedure or surgery you need before you undergo it; he and his staff will help you work through any issues that you may have with insurance claims and benefits, if problems arise; and you will receive the absolute very best care and treatment from Dr. Biddulph. There is no better orthopedic surgeon than this one. All aspects of his surgical and medical practice… are superb.

DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE SEEING THIS GUY Dr Biddulph is a joke, if you have a workers comp claim dont pick this so called doctor. I picked him because of reviews but what a horrible mistake.Workers comp gave me 3 doctors and once I picked him and the insurance company would not let me change. The Dr showed no interest in trying to fix my pain or problem. From the very being he tried to find a reason for the insurance company to not treat my pain. I was not trying to stay out of work I wanted fixed so I can work. I have a bulged disc in my back confirmed by a ct scan and MRI.This was the result of a bad fall that shattered my arm in many pieces. I was lucky The trauma doctor that treated my arm was not in bed with the insurance company like Biddulph. I will not call him a doctor from this point on because he did not try to help my condition. His total goal was protecting the insurance company's money. Instead of looking for ways to help me,he spent his time pulling my x rays and files… from other hospitals to see if I had a pre existing back injury. I told him I had a previous injury but not in this place and it was 6 yrs ago. He had no reason to spend time looking for an old mri or x ray to treat me!!!! The report from the technician told him my condition. He was trying to protect the insurance company not treat my condition. At a follow up appointment, he asked what my plan was. I said I do not understand. He asked me what is my plan with my back? I was confused with this question because I came to him to fix my back so I could return to work. He then asked are you trying to stay out of work? should I just send you to a range of motion doctor ? I said NOOOO I want fixed so I can go back to work!!!!!!!!! He then admitted he worked closely with the insurance company, and kinda bragged they use him to debunk workers comp claims and would call and see what the insurance company wanted to do!!!! Leaving the office I realized he was trying to get me to say I didn't want to go back to work so he could call the insurance company to stop my claim. He said he couldn't see were my bulged disc could be causing me pain!!!!!!!!! really ? Then what is causing my pain and the swelling on my back? He shrugged me off and refused to feel the swollen area or look at the picture I took!!!!!!! After not listening or examining me he said i'm going to close your case. I had no idea what he meant but I was scheduled for my 5th surgery with a doctor who was not a puppet on a string being controlled by the insurance company!!!!!! During my recovery I contacted a workers comp attorney to see if I could chance doctors. he contacted the insurance company they said no I had to stay with Biddulph, he instructed me to call for an appointment. I called and was told that I needed to go to my health care provider because it was a new injury!!!!!!!! well since the state of virginia said different. The state awarded me lifetime benefits on that part of my back!!! my attorney called them and all of a sudden I get a call for an appointment !!!!!! He scheduled it way out so I had to deal with the pain. The day of appointment I told him I wanted him to fix my back or tell the insurance company he couldn't or didn't want to treat me. I told him what the attorney said to repeat." He was supposed to treat me by what I needed not what the insurance company wanted" Biddulph said the patent is my first priority and taking care of the insurance company is second!!!!! NOOOOOO the doctor is not to treat by what the insurance company wants!!!! He then told me he would refer me to a neurosurgeon and let the insurance company do the research to disprove my claim!!!!! And he wasn't going to do it anymore!!!!!!!. I was advised they would contact me when the INSURANCE company told HIM what THEY wanted to do!!!!! I called in one time and said I needed the doctor to give me a prescription for pain or a doctors note for work. He said he COULDN'T prescribe anything and COULDN'T give me a doctors note!!!!! I wasn't asking for pain pills!!! He would not prescribe valtrex cream, or lidocaine patch! nothing!!!! Flash forward 4 weeks with no reply and me calling in 6 times they would not answer the phone til I called from a different number. I was told the insurance company denied giving any treatment. They refused to put anything in writing. Also when I asked for my records they said it would take over 2 weeks!!!!!! I am sure he modified them by the time I got them. It doesn't take 2 weeks to print my file. I was told by an employee the just pull it up on computer and print. 2 weeks gives the doctor time to change records!!!!!! I will update when this nightmare is over, DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE BY PICKING HIM LIKE I DID!!!!!!

I have been very please with Dr. Biddulph, very nice and professional. His office staff is very pleasant also.

An attentive physician, who takes time with you, fully explains his proposed treatment plan, explains your options and makes sure you have a good understanding of your condition. Fantastic bedside manner! Highly recommend! And, his support staff are wonderful as well. Alleviated my chronic knee pain, and made the procedure comfortable. Does not rush to surgery, but explores other less invasive alternatives. Thank you Dr. Biddulph!

Dr. Biddulph is simply the best orthopedic doctor I have ever had. Not only is his entire staff exceptionally friendly and responsive, but also Dr. Biddulph is extremely generous in the amount of time he spends with his patients and absolutely tremendous in the quality of care that he provides. He is smart, he listens carefully to your problem, and he explains things thoroughly. I highly recommend Dr. Biddulph to anyone who is in need of an orthopedic doctor. You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Biddulph has treated four members of my family, not counting me, and every one of us have been extremely pleased. I don't know how one reviewer could have said he was arrogant and didn't listen, as we find him to be very caring and attentive. He makes you feel as if you are the only patient, when you know he has others there as well. When we have had to wait for an appointment, it was because of an emergency, or more follow-up surgery patients than expected. Would recommend him, without any reservation whatsoever.

Grear doctor and friendly office staff! I was worried about having my knee replaced but by the time I had my surgery I felt confident that everything would go well. My knee is PERFECT and I wish I had been sent to Dr. Biddulph sooner!

Great doctor and staff. Friendly compassionate, yet professional. The doctor addressed all my concerns and questions. He did not rush in and out like a lot of them do. Doctor diagnoised then treated in the same appointment, not like most were they send you for xrays and come back in 2 weeks. Very impressed.
