Dr. John Patrick Carlson, MD

Dr. John P Carlson, MD takes excellent care of my eye post op. I had a complex retina detachment and surgery to fix it in Michigan then moved to California a couple months later where he now treats me. He is very professional and cares about his patients. He respects my need to know about my eye and takes the time to answer the questions I have by tailoring his explanations to my level of understanding. He is great at attempting less invasive methods first seeking to improve your conditions. He found a medicine my swelling responded well to and was able to significantly reduce my swelling almost to the point where there was none. I definitely recommend him!

The nature of our visit to Dr. John P. Carlson was an emergency. We went from and Opthamologyst visit to the ER visit then to Dr. John P. Carlson all in one day. There was a miscommunication regarding insurance issues at the beginning by many phone calls. By the time we got to the office we were pleased with the front office staff. The ladies were helpful and kind. Then by the time we saw Dr. Carlson all of our worries disappeared due to his bed side manner. Dr. Carlson took his time to explain everything clearly and allowed us time to process every pieces of information before any decision was made. We felt a tremendous amount of relief after receiving care from him that day. We have long roads a head but are hopeful for the best prognosis.

I got a failed cataract surgery in another institute, and was transferred to here. Dr. John P. Carlson, immediately arranged a second surgery next day, and saved my eye, with his rich experience, superb medical skills, and patience and kindness. I am so lucky having Dr. Carlson to do the surgery for me. And I don't have enough words to thanks Dr. Carlson and his staffs.

Great staff and care given. It seems there is a new manager and all the staff seems to be so much more organized and more relaxed than ever before. It used to be chaos when their manager Donna was there. Now it is calm and friendly! I was happy and felt confident with my doctor care. Dr. Carlson took care of my eyes until I moved. He is very cautious with patients vision and takes every thing that he has available to him to protect eye sight. I highly recommend him to anyone that has retinal issues. I do miss him.
