Dr. John Alan Carmichael, MD

Dr. Carmichael, without notice or reason, will resign as your doctor for "Treatment Non- Compliance" (whatever that is). He notifies his patients of this by registered letter without any explanation! No other doctor at his practice will accept you as a patient either. Numerous attempts to contact Dr. Carmichael were to no avail. Many calls were made to speak one on one with the doctor. No calls were accepted by the doctor. In a further attempt to understand why I received the letter, I sent Dr. Carmichael a registered letter asking him to speak with me one on one or to respond to my letter. To date, I have had no response. I am baffled! I truly have no idea why I received this letter. I always did exactly what I was told to do by Dr. Carmichael. If you are looking for a physician that will personally address your concerns...keep looking.

Very good as explaining any findings and provides very good recommendations. Always has time during your visit to do a complete exam.

Dr. Carmichael, the office staff, and nurses have delivered quality medical care to my wife and I for two decades. He and his staff are knowledgeable with current medical practices. They work hard to give a personal touch to make sure you are listened to and well cared for under their care. I have referred countless family members, coworkers, and others to experience the dedicated, empathetic, and proficient team of medical staff under Dr. Carmichael.

I have been a patient for over 20 years and fully trust Dr. Carmichael and his staff. He has an awesome bedside manner. He gives you technical terms and then laymans terms if you don't understand. He is very proactive and feels that if he cannot treat your problem or condition promptly, he will send you to a specialist either by your choice or his recommendation. Overall, he is a great doctor and person.

Had issues with getting calls returned to set up appointments in a timely manner, last one took three days. Really pushes for ear washes that are rarely covered by insurance and are quite the surprise in cost. When confronted with dissatisfaction with being pushed with this process and the amount of money owed out of pocket for it was canceled as a patient. Nice bill padding for them but make very sure of your insurance's coverage on this, with the best bet to avoid all together and make sure the problems you are visiting about are the top priority.
