Dr. John A. King, MD

Dr. John King specializes in orthopedic surgery, focusing on conditions affecting bones, joints, and muscles throughout the body. He earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine and completed his residency training at Georgia Baptist Hospital/Scottish Rite Hospital in 1986. Dr. King also completed additional residency training at the University Health Center of Pittsburgh with specialized focus in hand surgery and orthopedic surgery, as well as training at Atlanta Medical Center. With over four decades of practice experience, he holds board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. King provides care to patients in English.

Dr. King practices with Orthopaedic Associates of the Lakelands in Greenwood, South Carolina, and maintains hospital privileges at Abbeville Area Medical Center. His expertise includes treating arm fractures and carpal tunnel syndrome, along with managing postoperative pain …for surgical patients. He incorporates physical therapy and strength training into patient treatment plans and performs specialized procedures such as brachial plexus blocks for pain management.
