Dr. John Paul Schacht, DO

I saw Dr. Schacht in December of 2019. It was an hour and a half interview and exam for him to determine whether or not I met the criteria for hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Dr. Schacht is the most straightforward doctor I have ever been in the presence of. He is so steadily focused, that he seems to be in a different mental realm than the rest of the world. This is the type of doctor you would want assessing and diagnosing your situation. He was completely thorough. He came to the appointment having a planned method to gain the information he needed to properly determine my diagnosis. After the thorough interview/examination, he ordered blood tests. He personally called me about a month later once he had received the results of the testing and had studied them. He spent an entire hour with me describing his findings. He was also very interested in following up with my son to see if he had anything in his genetic makeup that would indicate things for him as well. Dr.… Schacht is the type of doctor that gives much hope! He did not bring any presuppositions or previously seen diagnoses into the exam, but simply started with everything I brought to the table combined with his knowledge of how to assess what he was finding. I hope his career has seen colleagues and directors or management continuing to acknowledge the many good things about him, and I also hope that he has the energy and perseverance to continue in his good work helping patients with their diagnoses and treatments. (I also would be surprised if he doesn't have a very high I.Q.. If he does, he is a person who would not let that go to his head, so to speak. He has a humble disposition.)
